Job Description:

Role Summary/Purpose:

Synchrony's Digital Apply, Buy, Servicing & Collections products are used by 1B+ visitors annually and are the virtual face of the brands we support.

We are seeking an Agile Product Owner to lead the development and releases of various Synchrony Digital Payment/Purchasing solution enhancements and launches.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, have experience working in a matrixed environment with technical development teams, strong project management and Agile skills with a focus on digital payment and digital pass solutions, including Apple and Google Wallet applications and proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget and exceeding adoption targets. This position will report to the VP, Digital Payment, Buy and Wallets Leader.

This position is remote, where you have the option to work from home. On occasion we may request for you to commute to our nearest office for in person engagement activities such as team meetings, training and culture events. Essential Responsibilities:

  • Define and gather details for requirements, write and refine user stories, prioritize backlogs and plan releases according to the Program Increment plan, Participate and work with agile teams during program increment planning each quarter, report out team/project status on bi weekly stakeholder calls.
  • Partner with multiple internal (i.e. Product Management) and external sources to gather market intelligence and user VOC and translate the results into detailed product requirements.
  • Oversight and leadership of the end-to-end product development cycle including build, test, launch and adoption.
  • Partner with key stakeholders such as IT, Credit, Client Teams and Compliance to identify and prioritize future features to deliver to market.
  • Work with internal and external partners to create screen prototypes / wireframes, gather feedback and adjust to optimize performance.
  • Partner with Digital Analytics team to closely monitor, analyze and optimize usage patterns.
  • Coordinate and lead user acceptance testing (UAT) for various digital releases.
  • Support and aid in any Legal/Compliance items related to the digital platforms.
  • Ensure all builds and developments adhere to and meet ADA standards and requirements.
  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.


Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree OR in lieu of degree; high school diploma/GED and 7+ years of Project Management experience
  • A minimum of 3 years of project management experience, preferably IT Project Management
  • 2+ years of experience leading software development projects

  • Excellent analytical and presentation skills within all levels of the organization. Effectively communicate and influence all leadership levels of Synchrony and its partners
  • Strategic thinker with ability to develop and implement actionable plans to drive business results
  • Strong project management experience with a record of delivering on time and across functions
  • Strong digital proficiency, including launching new products and capabilities and understanding of mobile devices and applications


Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older
  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 24 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must have at least a "consistently meets expectations" performance rating and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance requirement).

The salary range for this position is 75,000.00 - 150,000.00 USD Annual

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA and Metro NY and some positions are bonus eligible.
