Job Description:
The Automation Product Manager will work in partnership with business operations departments to understand their process automation opportunities. S/he will be responsible to accurately capture those processes in our automation software. S/he will also be involved in directing the development efforts of our automation partner, supporting testing efforts, ensuring that the configuration of the deployment environment stays current over time (change management) and overseeing script maintenance as underlying systems change over time. This position will monitor the effectiveness of the process automation efforts and deployments over time and will provide periodic status reports of overall program effectiveness. Over the past year, we have made Robotic Process Automation (RPA) a key focus area and we have identified several business processes that are ready to automate. To be successful in this role, s/he will have a strong sense of ownership and be able to build excellent working relationships with the client process improvement team, the vendor partner and other stakeholders

Responsibilities:

  • Elicit and document requirements from credit union personnel. E.g., thoroughly understanding how a process works, the steps required, the decision points and possible decisions, the software systems and screens involved, and the outputs.
  • Work with our partner to translate requirements into the RPA software. This includes having accountability for the software being deployed into production (source control, testing, change control, and code promotion)
  • Identify opportunities to streamline or optimize the BOT creation process.
  • Stay abreast of the RPA industry and inform the business of changes in technology or provides. Actively look for opportunities to apply the technology in new creative ways.
  • Provide reporting of overall program effectiveness.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline or optimize business processes.
  • Create documentation. Including collateral such as:
  • Technical/ architecture diagrams to capture solution logical and physical aspects (e.g., servers involved, network data flow, system data flows, data dictionaries, etc.).
  • Production user guides and support plans.
  • CMDB information to support future impact assessments.
