A pioneer in K-12 education since 2000, Amplify is leading the way in next-generation curriculum and assessment. Our captivating core and supplemental programs in ELA, math, and science engage all students in rigorous learning and inspire them to think deeply, creatively, and for themselves. Our formative assessment products turn data into practical instructional support to help students at every skill level build a strong foundation in early reading and math. Our programs provide teachers with powerful tools that help them understand and respond to the needs of all their students. Today, Amplify serves five million students in all 50 states.
The Associate Product Manager, Science should be technically savvy and excited by the opportunity to work at the intersection of education and product development.
You will work closely with our senior product team members to provide assistance on multiple science-related projects and initiatives, as well as manage development on projects of your own. You should be comfortable dealing with the daily hurdles and open questions that come along with product development, and have a strong "self-starter" attitude to move things forward at times when the path isn't always clear.
Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside senior managers (Product Manager and VP) to define high-level goals for the product(s)
  • Learn all about the components of the product your team owns and work towards being the product expert
  • Conduct research to identify and understand the challenges and areas of opportunity our users face and advocate for improvements with data you collect
  • Own specific product development initiatives, which could include new curriculum materials, brand new curriculum products, and/or enhancements.
  • Work jointly with design, engineering, and research to create concepts, wireframes, and designs, then bring them to life
  • Act as a "quality evangelist" - use your experience to make tough judgement calls on feature prioritization, weighing both time and cost considerations daily
  • Provide aid to various teams. This could include tasks such as:
    • Assisting with gathering requirements and team input for an RFP from an Amplify customer
    • Writing scripts for videos and help articles to describe our products
    • Workshopping and iterating on product ideas, plans, and priorities with both internal and external (customers, prospects, etc.) stakeholders
    • Training internal teams on product updates
    • Help investigate and document the competitive product landscape and education market trends.
    • Demoing new products to sales, marketing, and other externally-facing teams
  • Work cross-functionally on initiatives that don't live on just one team, for example:
    • Take a proactive role in raising concerns and feedback
    • Find holes in ownership and fill them or raise concerns in group meetings
    • Help organize team outings & game-conception sessions

You Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience working on Agile software development teams
  • Experience with office productivity and project planning tools
  • Experience with standard project management tools (JIRA, Google Drive)
  • Ability to effectively convey deadline, guidelines, and project goals through written and verbal communication
  • Experience in Education or EdTech
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Unrelenting self-motivation and initiative; willingness to assume responsibility

We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. To that end, we seek to recruit, develop and retain the most talented people from a diverse candidate pool.
