At Rabobank we want to deliver the best services for our IT engineers, and you as Product Owner Azure Platform Services can play a central role in providing them!  

You would join the Area Engineering Platforms that provides global infrastructure for the bank as compliant, easy-to-use, self-service solutions. We focus on 4 strategic pillars: providing stable and secure infrastructure, enhancing the ease of use of our services while maturing them, enabling engineers within the bank to use the best fitting infrastructure, and we integrate our insights and services in Nexa* .    

* Nexa is Rabobank's centralized platform for everything needed to deliver secure, standardized, and innovative, high-quality solutions. Nexa simplifies the entire DevOps journey and accelerates the IT delivery.   

Since its launch at Rabobank in 2016, the Azure Platform has grown from a project to a thriving ecosystem across all angles of the Rabobank, supporting many key functionalities. In 2020/2021, we pivoted to a dedicated subscription model, onboarding a few pioneering squads. Fast forward, we have scaled to over 3,000 subscriptions with around 300.000 Azure resources. Now, we’re about to embark on our next chapter. 

To support continued growth, continue to improve the security posture and reduce complexity, we’re restructuring our Azure squads. In Q4 2025, we’ll split into Consumer Services and Platform Services — and we’re looking for a Product Owner Azure Platform Services to help lead the way. 

This is a fitting job for you if you're passionate about platform automation & support, infrastructure services and enhancing the security and compliancy based on our policy & security frameworks. Working closely with Microsoft and your internal stakeholders (incl. user groups), you lay the crucial foundation for the Azure Consumer Services (and other products such as Kong API gateway and Kubehub AKS clusters) to build upon. • As Product Owner thinking in business value, you are also tech savvy; 

• Thrive in guiding the squads based on the shared vision of each of your angles as squad triangle member (existing of a PO, Solution Architect, Tech Lead and Scrum Master). 

• As a PO you own, communicate and evolve the product vision and roadmap for the Platform Services, setting the priorities based on the value (incl. work abstracted away from consumers, risk reduction, service availability and scalability) it has for your consumers.  

• Validate with your stakeholders (e.g. CISO, architecture and consumers) upon an approach to help (not lead) make autonomous squads more secure in their Azure usage.  

• Having ‘the right balance’ between autonomy (via dedicated subscriptions) for consuming squads by detection of non-compliance versus preventive controls and central regulation.  

• Promote as well as ensures standardization, reusability (of IaC) and self-service capabilities. 

• Drive reliability, using collaboration skills to convert policies in clear actionable insights, so consumers are helped with ease-of-use and lower cognitive loads;   

• Close alignment and collaboration with the other Product Owners (e.g. Azure Consumer Services, ROP, KubeHub) that build on top of your product;  

• Align with Architecture to create the best (reuseable) solutions (by automation) 

• Provide the Tech Lead with input to advocate requirements to Microsoft as vendor. 

• As a Product Owner, together with the Tech Lead and Solution Architect you are part of the leadership of the area.

• It's obvious that consumer focus, creativity, value-driven, impact, storytelling, analytical skills, excellent communication skills, agile-mindset, and problem-solving are essential for this role. Furthermore, it's important that you recognize yourself in the following: 

• Academic working and thinking level; 

• 5+ years of experience creating value, in a PO role. 

• Experience in Cloud infrastructure, with a good understanding of Azure policy, Azure management and Azure security  

• A security background and/or affinity. 

• Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO) certification. 

• You are fluent in English (verbal and written) and can tailor your communication to diverse audiences; Dutch proficiency is a plus. 

• Banking/ Highly regulated industry  

• Managing a platform at scale in a large organisation with self-service as principle. 

• OKR goals is considered a pré.  

• Quarterly/monthly Agile planning events for cross squad-dependency mapping.  

• Journey mapping and/or other technologies looking to optimize user experience is a plus;

Allowing you to opt for any between 32 and 40 hours a week divided over 4 to 5 days.
