About Alma

Alma is an AI law firm. We combine AI with an exceptional legal team to deliver fast, transparent, and high-touch legal services at a fraction of the cost of legacy firms. Our first market is immigration law.

Backed by Bling Capital, Forerunner, NFX, NEA, and other leading VCs, Alma serves both enterprise employers and individual applicants. Our AI-native platform automates case processing, compliance monitoring, and document generation — cutting cycle times and improving the experience for attorneys, employers, and candidates alike.

We are headquartered in Palo Alto with an office in SF. This role will be based out of the Palo Alto office (4 days a week in office)

The Role

Immigration law is one of the most complex, high-stakes, and underserved areas of legal services. The attorneys, employers, and candidates who navigate it deserve better tools. You'll help build them.

As PM, you'll own product areas that sit at the intersection of AI, legal workflows, and user experience. You won't be writing tickets for features someone else already designed. You'll be in the room with attorneys, paralegals, and customers understanding their work, with engineers debating what's feasible, and with leadership deciding what to build next.

This role is for someone early in their PM career who is sharp, moves fast, and thinks in products - not features. You should be the kind of person who uses AI tools daily, not because it's trendy, but because you've figured out they make you better at your job. If you're waiting for someone to hand you a roadmap, this isn't the role. If you want to help write it, keep reading.

What you will do
  • Own product areas end-to-end: discovery, scoping, spec, ship, measure, iterate

  • Talk to users constantly - attorneys, HR teams, foreign nationals - and turn messy qualitative signal into clear product decisions

  • Write crisp PRDs that engineers and designers actually want to read

  • Make prototypes on AI tools (or better yet, directly in the codebase)

  • Partner with engineering to make smart scope and sequencing tradeoffs, especially when timelines are tight

  • Identify where AI creates real leverage in legal workflows - and where it doesn't - and scope features accordingly

  • Define success metrics for your features and hold yourself accountable to them

  • Learn immigration law deeply enough to earn the trust of attorneys who've practiced it for decades

Do whatever it takes
  • Jump into a customer call when the team needs product context in the room

  • Prototype a flow yourself when it's faster than waiting for a design cycle

  • Dig into support tickets and case data to find patterns nobody's noticed

  • Pressure-test your own features by using them the way a real attorney would

Who you are
  • 2-5 years in product

  • You have product sense - you notice what makes software good. You study products you admire, you have opinions about prioritization, and when you propose a solution, it's elegant, not just functional.

  • You are AI-native - you use AI tools as part of your daily workflow, not as a novelty. You understand what LLMs are good at, where they break, and you can reason about when AI is the right solution vs. when it's not

  • You are sharp - you pick things up fast, ask good questions, and connect dots across conversations. People describe you as someone who "just gets it."

  • You communicate clearly - in writing, in meetings, with executives, with engineers, with customers. You can bring a room of disagreeing people to the same page.

  • You are curious about hard domains - immigration law is complex and nuanced. You're excited by that complexity, not intimidated by it. You want to understand the domain deeply, not just skim the surface.

  • You are scrappy and accountable - you don't wait for permission. You fill gaps, move fast, and own your outcomes.

Why Join Alma
  • Massive market - $15B U.S. immigration market ripe for disruption

  • Real traction - venture-backed with strong revenue growth

  • Build at the frontier - AI + legal is one of the most interesting product spaces right now. You'll ship features that don't have playbooks yet.

  • Learn fast - small team, founder-level exposure

  • Work that matters - every feature you ship helps real people navigate one of the most stressful processes of their lives

Benefits & Perks
  • Hyper-competitive base salary range based on experience

  • 100% Health coverage + Vision + Dental

  • 20 days PTO + 10 Federal Holidays

  • $250 per month in wellness allowance

  • A front-row seat to startup growth, with mentorship from legal, tech, and business leaders

  • Opportunities to shape internal systems, lead on strategy, and build something new

A quick note

We know the “perfect” candidate doesn’t exist. If this role excites you but you don’t meet every qualification, we’d still love to hear from you. Immigration is complex. So are people. That’s what makes this work so meaningful.
