We are seeking a technically adept and product-minded Senior Specialist, Learning Technologies to oversee the performance, configuration, and lifecycle of our learning, assessment, and content delivery systems. This role will serve as both system administrator and product manager for the technologies that enable content authoring, publication, delivery, and assessment across our network of 59 schools and growing.
The Senior Specialist, Learning Technologies will own all aspects of our existing suite (Google Classroom, Kami, Heretto, and SchoolCity) as well as our future-state learning experience platform, which will represent a major investment and focus over the next three years. This person will be responsible for ensuring reliability, scalability, and strong user experience across the ecosystem while representing the capabilities and constraints of these systems to academic and operational stakeholders. This role will partner closely with the Schooling, Education Institute, Engineering, and Data teams to ensure seamless integrations, efficient workflows, and effective use of learning technology in support of instructional goals.
Key Responsibilities
System Administration & Performance Monitoring
Own end-to-end configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of Google Classroom, Heretto, SchoolCity, and future off-the-shelf and proprietary systems (e.g., Canvas).
Ensure uptime, data accuracy, and optimal performance across learning and content management platforms.
Proactively identify and resolve technical issues, coordinating with Engineering and vendor support teams as needed.
Product Ownership & Roadmap Execution
Serve as the internal product owner for learning technology, translating instructional and assessment needs into system design, configuration, and technical requirements.
Define, document, and evolve standards for content authoring, publication, and delivery workflows across systems.
Partner with leaders across Schooling and Curriculum to plan and execute multi-year transformation in our tech stack, ensuring a smooth transition for teachers, scholars, and staff.
Integrations & Custom Development
Manage and optimize integrations across systems (SIS, data warehouse, and assessment tools) to ensure a unified user experience and accurate data flow.
Oversee any custom development, working with Engineering and vendors to scope, test, and deploy enhancements that improve usability or performance.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
Serve as the primary point of contact for learning technology vendors, managing contracts, renewals, SLAs, and escalations.
Represent platform constraints, dependencies, and opportunities to internal stakeholders in clear, actionable terms.
