Cochlear has a unique, Macquarie Park, Sydney based full time opportunity for a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Lead to join our Global Supply Chain Planning team. This pivotal role ensures our organisation remains aligned, informed, and operationally ready across the full five-year PLM horizon. You will maintain visibility over the entire product portfolio—past, current, and future—and act as the central coordination point for all PLM-related changes, including introductions, retirements, and transitions.

As the PLM Lead, you will connect Planning with PLM, Marketing, and Engineering, ensuring portfolio changes are understood, assessed, and reflected in operational plans. You will also lead the assembly and facilitation of the IBP Supply Management Review (SMR), driving consensus on high-level demand assumptions across Finance, Marketing, and Planning.

This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic thinker with strong supply chain expertise to influence long-term planning and portfolio readiness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead PLM Execution and Portfolio Readiness
    • Drive execution of PLM activities across the full portfolio.
    • Maintain visibility over the 5-year PLM horizon and roadmap.
    • Communicate PLM impacts to stakeholders and monitor risks/opportunities.
  • Drive Demand Alignment and Long-Term Planning
    • Consolidate strategic inputs into a single demand view.
    • Facilitate consensus on demand assumptions before planning begins.
    • Maintain and update a high-level 5-year demand model.
  • Lead IBP Supply Management Review
    • Coordinate and chair monthly SMR meetings.
    • Present consolidated demand assumptions and portfolio impacts.
    • Support IBP process maturity and stakeholder understanding.
  • Training and Education
    • Mentor team members and foster a positive, collaborative culture.
    • Promote continuous improvement and succession planning.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, APICS Supply Chain Management, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a medical device or manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of Supply Chain Management processes.
  • Experience with Oracle ERP and advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • Strong analytical and data interrogation capabilities.

Desired Skills

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Project management experience.
  • Advanced understanding of supply chain principles.
