Position Summary

The Product Development Manager leads the Global OEM Product Development team and co-leads the Global OEM business unit with the Commercial Leader. This role oversees the full product and project portfolio, including new product launches, sustaining engineering, and VAVE initiatives. The position ensures projects are delivered on time, with strong process discipline, quality, and alignment to business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Global OEM product development portfolio, balancing innovation, sustaining projects, and cost-improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to business strategy by defining product roadmaps, identifying technology opportunities, and aligning development priorities with long-term growth objectives.
• Drive disciplined execution through the Stage-Gate process, ensuring clear deliverables, documentation, and cross-functional accountability.
• Lead and develop a global Product Development team based in West Haven, Connecticut, USA, and Bangalore, India, fostering collaboration, technical growth, and a culture of problem solving.
• Partner with the Global OEM Commercial Leader to align technical priorities with business and customer needs.
• Collaborate with Operations, Research, and Quality to ensure manufacturability, compliance, and smooth transition from development to production.
• Guide sustaining engineering and VAVE programs to enhance product value, reduce cost, and improve manufacturability.
• Maintain high standards for design reviews, validation, and change management.
• Represent Product Development in customer meetings and internal business reviews.
• Continuously improve processes, tools, and communication across global teams to strengthen efficiency and consistency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or another technical discipline (Mechanical, Chemical, Materials, or related field preferred); Master’s a plus.
• 10+ years of progressive Product Development Engineering experience, including 3+ years leading a high-performing team.
• Proven success managing global portfolios and leading cross-functional teams.
• Strong knowledge of Stage-Gate, Lean, Six Sigma, and design verification.
• Experience with SolidWorks, Microsoft Office, and statistical tools.
• Industry experience in water filtration or appliances preferred.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Additional Information

• This position is fully on-site, based in Bangalore, India.

• Travel up to 15 percent.
