The Product Compliance Engineering Specialist II provides regulatory compliance support to engineering development projects, existing product changes throughout the product life cycle and interfaces with cross-functional teams consisting of engineering, operations, sourcing, quality, service, and marketing to assure ongoing product content compliance and distribution control. In addition, this position manages certification processes, prepares documentation, and is the liaison with regulatory bodies and certification agencies.Major ResponsibilitiesDevelops, implements and maintains compliance procedures and systems for applicable product types
Defines and documents compliance requirements for new and existing products, ensuring requirements are accurately captured in Product Requirements Specifications, Bills of Material, compliance procedures, and engineering design and material specifications
Collaborates with internal manufacturing partners, contract manufacturers, designers and product specialists to optimize product compliance status throughout the product life cycle
Maintains oversight of related regulatory landscape for newly developing and/or revised standards
Engages with appropriate industry and regulatory organizations/associations representing Generac Power Systems
Prepares and submits documentation for certification applications and renewals
Liaises with regulatory bodies, certification agencies, and testing laboratories to secure and maintain product certifications
Maintains certification schedules, reports, and records
Supports internal and external audits related to product compliance and certification
Acts as a resource, mentor and subject matter expert to more junior team members
Education
Bachelor of Science degree or related discipline
Work Experience
2 years of relevant work experience
Experience in new product design and development and product lifecycle change control
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Ability to conduct analysis of existing and development regulations and standards
Demonstrated written communication and presentation skills
Ability to translate technical information to all audiences
Applies regulatory knowledge and experience to improve products, services and processes
Ability to perform detail-oriented work with a high degree of accuracy on multiple projects
Work Experience
Product Regulatory Compliance experience with US, Canadian, and Global regulations
Experience with consumer product compliance

On occasion, the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
