JOB PURPOSE  

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Procurement Manager to join our Ice Cream Business Unit in Mexico. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a good communication to connect BU ambitions to procurement goals and strategies. As a Procurement Market manager, the person will have to develop and implement material strategies with procurement portfolios, driving savings agendas to meet Mexico P&L ambitions, while focused on the innovation agenda locally. This position is also responsible for managing supplier quality and service agenda to keep a healthy supplier base for the business in Mexico. 

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Develop and implement comprehensive material strategies that align with business objectives and procurement goals. 

  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers to secure the best value and quality for the organization. 

  • Ensure a consistent supply of materials, managing supplier relationships to mitigate risks and resolve issues related to quality, service or other issues promptly. 

  • Ensure a good communication between procurement community and BU team to align on the business needs. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive cost reduction projects and achieve annual savings targets. 

  • Track savings performance, ensuring transparency and accountability in procurement activities. 

  • Conduct market research to stay abreast of industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and new product developments. 

  • Support a robust material price forecast model to anticipate market changes and mitigate financial risks. 

  • Regularly communicate material price forecasts and market trends to business units and stakeholders to support decision-making. 

  • Ensure transparency and clarity in communication with stakeholders, providing timely updates on procurement strategies and performance metrics. 

  • Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, contracts, and supplier performance evaluations. 

  • Support the development and implementation of procurement policies and best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. 

 

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. 

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain, with a focus on the ice cream  or consumer goods industry. 

  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful material strategies and savings agendas. 

  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills. 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively. 

  • Proven abilities in stakeholder management, with an emphasis on listening and influencing.    

 

  • Proficiency in procurement software and systems, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. 

  • Direct or indirect report management with demonstrated ability to lead, direct, and coach people.  

  • Fluency in English is required.

EXPERIENCES & QUALIFICATIONS   

  • Bachelor’s Degree required with preference in Logistics, Supply Chain, or other Business field.  

  • 10+ years of relevant Procurement or Logistics experience required, preferably in Consumer-Packaged Goods or within Cold Chain Operations 

  • Spanish and English professional proficiency
