Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) Advanced Processing Solutions is working to develop next generation high performance computing systems to meet the mission demands of the NGMS Networked Information Solutions (NIS) business. Superconducting electronics forms the core of our technology, with a focus on energy-efficient computation including our patented superconducting digital logic technology, Reciprocal Quantum Logic (RQL). On a gate for gate basis, RQL consumes orders of magnitude less power than CMOS while running at significantly higher clock speeds.
The Engineering & Sciences organization supporting the Transformational Computing business area at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is seeking a Logistic Engineer. Transformational Technology is focused on developing state-of-the-art next generation superconducting electronics (SCE) and advanced computing technologies.
Qualified Logistics Engineer will have experience with some of the following responsibilities:
- Managing and maintaining the day-to-day interfaces and communications between the assigned Program Management Office (PMO), Test Execution, Mission Assurance (MA), Supply Chain (SCM), Engineering, and Shipping.
- Works collaboratively to establish a lab operation baseline and determines sparing and support equipment requirements.
- Reviews technical data related to types of equipment used in the lab, utilization rates, calibration timelines, and product roadmaps.
- Manages and controls the asset position of USG inventories.
- Utilization of SAP Materials management and other inventory management systems.
- Maintain internal stock of lab consumable material and parts.
- Develop a plan for periodic review of assets activity (e.g., in use, idle, at calibration, needs repair/upgrade, awaiting final disposition, etc., across multiple labs.
- Devise and implement methods and procedures for tracking test assets.
- Develop, review, analyze, and implement processes surrounding receiving, storing, kitting, and deploying materials.
- Regularly prepare presentation content and brief stakeholders on material procurement and deployment status.
- Author and submit IHEs, SimTos, and other relevant documentation required by Global Supply Chain (GSC) for material procurement.
This position will serve on-site in Linthicum/ Annapolis Junction, MD.
This position can be filled at either the Principal Logistics Engineer or Senior Principal Logistics Engineer level.
Basic Qualifications for Principal Logistics Engineer:
- Bachelor's degree (STEM discipline preferred) with 5 years of experience or 3 years with MS or 0 years with PhD.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively to team members both verbally and in writing.
- Experience with MS Office applications including Excel, Word, Project, and Power Point.
- Experience in one or more of the following: Asset Tracking, Calibration, Quality Assurance, Material Management, Performing Audits.
- This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen with ability to obtain and maintain DoD TS/SCI with poly security clearance per business requirements.
Basic Qualifications for Sr. Principal Logistics Engineer:
- Bachelor's degree (STEM discipline preferred) with 9 years of experience or 7 years with MS or 4 years with PhD.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively to team members both verbally and in writing.
- Experience MS Office applications including Excel, Word, Project, and Power Point.
- Experience in one or more of the following: Asset Tracking, Calibration, Quality Assurance, Material Management, Performing Audits.
- This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen with ability to obtain and maintain DoD TS/SCI with poly security clearance per business requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active DoD TS/SCI with poly security clearance
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
- Experience contacting vendors to obtain quotes.
- Can work independently without oversight.
- Ability to lead a team.
- Experience with SAP or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
Salary Range: $77,000.00 - $121,000.00Salary Range 2: $95,400.00 - $150,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
