Beyond is Qodea’s Customer Experience Design Studio.
We design the ‘surfaces’ where customers and technology meet.
Our teams shape the intelligence behind those experiences, turning data, design, and emerging technologies into products that are intuitive, adaptive, and human.
We are multi-disciplinary designers, product strategists, writers, architects, engineers, data scientists, and ML researchers, united by a single goal: to design a better future for our clients and their customers.
We believe we are on the cusp of a new golden era of design, one where design will be more important than ever. An era of exploration and discovery.
We’re building a studio where designers immerse themselves in AI design paradigms, experimenting with adaptive patterns, conversational interfaces, and agentic workflows, the foundation for tomorrow’s customer experience.
We look for people who embody:
Innovation to solve the hardest problems.
Accountability for every result.
Integrity always.
About The Role:
- We’re looking for a Principal Engineer to lead the technical direction and delivery of a new cross-domain analytics platform. This platform unifies transactional, behavioral, and social data into a single privacy-preserving insight engine. You’ll design, scale, and operate distributed systems that transform complex, high-volume data into actionable insights and interactive visual experiences. The role combines hands-on architecture and implementation with strategic leadership of a multidisciplinary squad.
What You'll Do:
- Define and own architecture for a large-scale analytics and visualization platform.
- Build ingestion, transformation, and serving pipelines in Java and Scala.
- Design APIs and microservices delivering aggregated analytical data for visualization.
- Leverage distributed frameworks (Spark, Beam, or Flink) for real-time and batch workloads.
- Drive reliability, observability, and privacy-by-design practices across systems.
- Mentor engineers and lead a multidisciplinary squad through delivery and iteration.
- Collaborate with data and product leads to translate analytical requirements into scalable architecture.
Requirements:
- 12+ years of experience in backend and data engineering, focused on Java and Scala.
- Proven experience designing and scaling distributed data systems handling multi-source datasets.
- Strong background with Spark, Flink, or Beam and streaming technologies such as Kafka or Pub/Sub.
- Deep expertise with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and its data services (BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer, etc.).
- Experience building APIs (REST, GraphQL) and microservices in cloud-native environments.
- Deep understanding of data modeling, anonymization, and privacy-safe computation.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience building analytics or insights platforms.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted analytics or LLM-based summarization.
- Background in commerce, financial, or large-scale consumer data systems.
- Knowledge of data governance and compliance frameworks.
