Job DescriptionHe/She will be responsible for driving business growth through the acquisition and development of new gas and power wholesale counterparties, as well as managing a portfolio of deals within the power and gas origination segment.
Proactively originates and closes new EFET contracts, identifies and evaluates business opportunities, and builds relationships with potential clients. The role also focuses on developing opportunities in the PPA, BESS, and IPP sectors, designing tailor-made, value-driven solutions for Wholesale and Origination customers.
Essential responsibilities
- Execute the company’s origination strategy, focusing on energy, renewable energy, natural gas, and other commodities and certificates with strong understanding of market embedded optionality
- Clear focus on deals around PPAs, BESS market and IPPs
- Being responsible for developing and managing gas and power EFET relationships
- Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks, informing the origination strategy
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key market participants, including suppliers, distributors, and other stakeholders
- Develop and propose innovative energy solutions and products to attract and retain clients
- Lead negotiations for origination contracts, ensuring favorable terms and compliance with company policies
- Oversee credit risk and continuous position management of the origination portfolio
- Manage the entire deal approval process with internal stakeholders, taking full front-to-end ownership of the implementation of new deals, products, and contract management
- Work closely with the sales, operations, and finance teams to ensure seamless integration of origination activities with overall business operations
- Provide regular reports on origination activities and market conditions
- At least 5 years of experience in the energy sector, with a strong background in origination
- Have experience with structured energy transactions with embedded optionality in the local market with IPPs
- Have a track record of negotiating and closing PPA transactions from RES
- Understanding of the BESS market and possible solutions to BESS investors
- Deep understanding of the Czech energy market, including regulatory, economic, and competitive landscapes
- BSc/MSc degree in Business/Finance/Economics
- Fluency in Czech and English
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and strategic planning skills. Proficiency in market analysis tools and techniques
- Proactive, results-driven, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
