A Little About Us:
Our Property Sales Specialist team is responsible for driving direct sell-through of high margin media programs with a focus on sponsorships, high impact and branded content. Collaborating with our partner teams in Field and Mid Market US Sales, we ensure that we are maximizing revenue from our advertiser and agency partners on several of our strategic media brands like, Yahoo Sports, Yahoo Finance, Yahoo News, Yahoo Entertainment and Yahoo Lifestyle. We are passionate about Yahoo brands. We win by helping our partner sales teams, proactively selling directly in-market, providing a feedback loop to our Consumer Brand and Product teams, and ultimately by working with our advertisers to create solutions that build their brands and exceed their goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree with 7+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Preferred at least 5+ years in the advertising space with a track record of creating compelling marketing solutions, digital experience essential
  • Demonstrated partnerships with large clients and proven track record as a trusted advisor to clients and internal partner teams
  • Deep understanding of the digital media industry with the ability to credibly articulate strategic insights for clients that are based on data and research
  • Experience as a sales 'specialist,' or proven track record of effectively influencing internal partner sales teams
  • A proven collaborator and relationship-builder with experience leading executive-level engagements
  • Passion for branding and marketing; outspoken advocate for client brands
  • Ability to think strategically, understand marketer needs, and creatively translate these needs into compelling concepts and programs
  • Experience working in a fast paced, matrix organization is a plus; strong experience in, and understanding of digital media, marketing, and consumer behavior
  • Strong understanding of the News and Lifestyle space.
  • Connections with brand and strategy leaders


Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategic plans to exceed target revenue goals on the media brand/program that is your specialty
  • Partner with Field/Mid-Market Sales teams to prioritize your media brand properly within their account lists.
  • Build a working cadence with partner sales and support teams to track client adoption of your media brand and to share updates and learning
  • Partner with Editorial teams to deeply understand the value prop of the media, and opportunities to unlock potential revenue.
  • Facilitate high priority campaigns with partner teams from concept to delivery to ensure the highest level execution for brands.
  • Identify the ideal buying method of your media brand by client across of the spectrum of hand-sold to programmatic
  • Meet with clients to understand their strategic needs and to deliver solutions from your media brand that meet their advertising and overarching business needs
  • Work with Sales Enablement to develop pitch materials that compellingly articulate the value proposition of proposed solution from a category, client and consumer perspective
  • Deliver market feedback to Yahoo Brands and Product teams and develop a deep understanding of your brand's strategy and roadmap
  • Hone in-depth knowledge of the digital media industry including developing innovations in mobile, video, programmatic and other emerging media
  • Last, but certainly not least -- you are an excellent communicator, negotiator, and presenter

If hired for this position in Colorado, the compensation range for this position is between $179,250.00 - $298,750.00. The compensation may vary depending on your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include additional incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, plus equity incentives. Yahoo provides industry-leading benefits including healthcare, retirement, company holidays, vacation, sick time, parental leave and an employee assistance program.
