ROLE OVERVIEW
As the first Workplace team member in Boston, you welcome the challenge of building spaces, programs and teams from the ground up. You are innovative, results driven, detailed oriented and able to demonstrate proactive strategic thinking in a fast-paced, high-growth, ever-changing environment. This role reports to the Senior Manager, Global Workplace Operations and is located in Boston, MA.
YOUR IMPACT
- Support a launch of a new office space, including but not limited to, coordinating with building management, space planning, office setup, and cross functional partnerships with security, IT, legal etc
- Implement and own operational Workplace programs, such as: food and beverage, office supplies, janitorial, mail and repairs and maintenance
- Act as primary contact with property management – ensure lease compliance, be the first point of contact for building emergencies such as plumbing, air conditioning, building health, etc.
- Craft relevant communications and documentation regarding Workplace policies, procedures and programs
- Partner with key stakeholders within the company to ensure consistency of brand and culture among offices
- Contribute to the overall culture of Benchling through: swag, onboarding and orientation, internal events including team off-sites, happy hours, yearly kick-off, company parties, etc.
- Act as a consultant and collaborator on office build outs and upgrades
- Manage tickets (work requests), ensuring timely responses and a very high level of customer service
- Own local workplace budgets and forecasting
ABOUT YOUMust haves:
- 3+ years office management, employee experience, events management, or property management experience or similar
- Experience managing a team and/or multiple vendors
- Strong commitment to achieving an extraordinarily high level of customer service
- Exemplary communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization
- Accountable, resourceful and proactive
- Excellent problem solving skills, with an ability to recognize opportunities and develop ways of addressing them
- Passion for building and maintaining a tight-knit community within the workplace
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with strong attention to detail and a proven ability to take ownership of multiple projects, competing priorities and constantly re-prioritizing in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
Nice to haves:
- Experience with managing large-scale projects
- Previously helped shape culture, process, and communication
- Facilities experience is a big plus
- Previous experience working across a variety of timezones, cultures, and markets
