Job Summary

Amentum is currently seeking a Windows System Administrator III to support an IT Managed Services program for the Department of Energy. The overall program includes a 500+ work force performing Enterprise IT support, Service Desk, and Telecommunications support across multiple facilities and locations, for classified and unclassified telecommunications and information technology (IT) systems for National Technology and Engineering Solutions of Sandia (NTESS).

The Windows System Administrator III will support the organization that leads the R&D implementation, operations and management of world-class Enterprise Cloud Infrastructure, Platform and Services while providing IT Modernization leadership of Cloud-Native practices. This position will be located at Sandia National Laboratories.

As a member of the team, you will:

  • Provide Windows System Administration planning.
  • Design, deploy and maintain server systems supporting the Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Process software assurance methods to protect environments against vulnerabilities.
  • Implement Sandia National Laboratories approved patch management software to support both the private and public cloud environments.
  • Work with on-premises Cloud and virtualization solutions.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of experience OR an Associates Degree and 6 years of experience OR High School Diploma / GED and 10 years of experience.
  • Must be able to obtain a TOP SECRET (TS) or DOE Q clearance and maintain it for the life of the contract.
  • Experience in Windows Server System Admin

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL, DNS, FTP, SSH, and other common Internet protocols.
  • Working knowledge of authentication methodologies such as Kerberos, PAM, and LDAP.
  • Familiarity or experience with automation tools such as Ansible.
  • Experience with solving practical problems and system analysis of IT infrastructures.
  • Experience in effectively prioritizing and executing tasks in a constantly changing environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and interdisciplinary team environment.
  • Develop scripts to automate system administration tasks utilizing IIS, PowerShell, Win Console and DNS server configuration.
