Supports, administers and maintains the operation of enterprise data center systems comprised of both physical and virtual servers, storage, backups, monitoring and automation. Manages Microsoft Windows 2008R2/2012R2/2016/2019 servers and VMware vSphere 6.5 & 6.7, with emphasis on automation, and enterprise storage and backup system administration, installation, upgrades/patch application, and on-going maintenance. Performs CPU, memory, and storage capacity management across a VMware clustered architecture. Implements VMware software defined data center products and tools for troubleshooting and performance tuning. Supports and manages server virtualization, baseline server image templates, datastores, distro switches/vSwitches, server provisioning, iDRAC 8.x/9.x setup/configuration, physical server maintenance, security compliance and daily operations. Maintains the security baseline compliance via configuration, implementation, and remediation activities. Monitors the virtual server infrastructure environment's health status, service performance, and utilization. Must have a basic understanding of networking layer 1, 2, and 3. Creates and maintains system documentation and architecture diagrams to support the RMF accreditation process.

Manages the functionality and efficiency of a clustered VMware ESXi architecture and virtualized Windows servers deployed therein.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS, 5+ years experience.
  • MCSA or MCSE Server certification preferred.
  • Certification in VMware architectures preferred.
  • Candidate must be able to meet German TESA requirements.
  • Candidate must possess DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification on Day 1.
  • Candidate must obtain ITIL Foundation certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Candidate must obtain one or more of the following certifications within 6 months of hire: VMWare VCP-DCV, VCP-NV, MCSE, MCSA



TESA requirements:

  • A bachelors degree plus 3 years of recent specialized experience, OR;
  • An associates degree plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR;
  • A major certification plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR;
  • 11 years of recent specialized experience.
