Job Description

We are seeking energetic, forward-thinking professionals to join our Information Technology group in Branchburg. As part of that team, you will help launch our new IT Global Innovation Center focused on developing and applying advanced capabilities in information sciences, information security, mobility, social media and big data. You will have the opportunity to work on global teams to identify and tackle the biggest opportunities and challenges at the intersection of healthcare, information and technology. Virtual Desktop Specialist will be part of a high-performing global team responsible for keeping the Virtual Desktop infrastructure operating in its best condition. He / She will leverage industry leading tools and processes to provide high quality, reliable, and cost effective virtual desktop services to our Company's global customers.
Primary job responsibilities include:

  • Operate and monitor the VMware Horizon infrastructure and coach the offshore operations teams to perform the tasks and solve incidents to meet expected quality and SLA's.
  • Oversee the proper categorization and prioritization of the incidents and problems is set.
  • Work with the engineering team to make sure the operation teams are equipped with the appropriate knowledge base and how to articles and the proper tools as well.
  • Own the process of maintaining and updating of VDI templates and master images.
  • Work with cutting-edge enterprise technologies such as VMware NSX, UEM, AppVolumes and AWS.
  • Own Complex Problems in Virtual Desktop Infrastructure area and drive them to resolution.
  • Ensure the offshore teams productivity is as negotiated.
  • Ensure adherence to global standards, policies and Service Level Agreements (SLA).

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 3 years virtual desktop experience, or a minimum of high school diploma with at least 5 years of equivalent experience.


Required Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in support virtual desktops and RDS using VMware vSphere infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in VMware Horizon 7.x platform (both VDI's and RDS).
  • Good knowledge of inner working of Windows 7, Windows 10, Windows 2012 RDS and related technologies. (TCP/IP protocol, WMI, Group Policies - AD , registry, AppLocker ).
  • Good understanding of Amazon AWS cloud Virtual Desktops.
  • Good troubleshooting skills and ability to understand the impact to the neighborhood technologies .
  • Strong skills in, operating and supporting high quality global infrastructure products & services.
  • Technical and Analytical skills and ability to adapt and rapidly learn new technologies.
  • Ability to document and maintain Standard Operation Procedures, Work Instructions, IQ/OQ and System Development Lifecycle Management.
  • Very good Incident and Problem management knowledge according to ITIL methodology.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Microsoft PowerShell scripting language.
  • ITIL.
  • Remedy and Remedy reporting.
  • Experience working with a global team.
