The team is situated within Edelman’s global Financial Communications division.

 

We provide a market-leading suite of services grounded in consulting skills, capital markets experience, legal/regulatory expertise, deep ESG knowledge, and superior storytelling and creative to help clients build, execute and communicate ESG strategies that mitigate risks, capture business opportunities, and earn the trust of investors and other stakeholders.

 

We are seeking a Vice President to join our growing ESG team. This new role reports to Senior Vice President, ESG, Financial Communications & Capital Markets based in New York City.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead ESG reporting and communications accounts and assignments, effectively drawing from relevant Edelman teams and resources to deliver best-in-class service 
  • Serve as relationship lead for C-suite client-side executives, as well as clients who manage communications and marketing functions and/or manage ESG committees and reporting workstreams
  • Lead and/or contribute to new business efforts focused on ESG opportunities
  • Ensure account teams are proactive and highly responsive to client needs, anticipating upcoming deliverables and taking accountability for proper execution 
  • Demonstrate superior project management and content strategy skills while liaising with creative and editorial teams and resources to develop transparent and compelling ESG reports and other ESG collateral and materials
  • Collaborate with Edelman colleagues across offices to identify ways to bring ESG services to Edelman clients 
  • Lead ESG marketing and prospecting efforts to identify new opportunities, including developing new thought leadership and IP, with a special focus on ESG strategy and reporting projects
  • Ensure junior staff is trained, supportive of team efforts and paying sufficient attention to detail 
  • Manage and assist in the development of junior staff
  • Collaborate with Edelman ESG colleagues in the US and globally to further develop and grow the global practice 
  • Build awareness of Edelman ESG with potential referral sources

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 7-10 years of experience in strategic and financial communications, preferably with some agency/consultancy experience 
  • 2-5 years of experience in ESG reporting
  • Experience leading efficient, multi-workstream projects to completion 
  • Deep understanding of how companies can develop and communicate a cohesive ESG strategy to various stakeholder audiences
  • Strong comfort level in counseling senior executives of clients across industries and sectors on ESG related matters, including reporting
  • Experience with high intensity corporate assignments 
  • Experience and facility in new business development and marketing 
  • Track record of training talent
  • Strong writing, presentation and analytical skills 
  • Organized, proactive and self-motivated; anticipate upcoming milestones and deliverables 
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal skills
  • Innate desire to provide excellent service to clients
