Job Description Qualifications:
The Boeing Company's Site Operations organization is currently seeking a Versatile Technologist to join our team. This position will design, install, operate, secure and maintain dedicated Program Information Technology Infrastructure that is required to deliver products to our customers. This position is located in El Segundo, CA. The Versatile Technologist Identifies computing requirements and confers on system needs. Performs a multi-disciplined range of technical systems and application activities. Installs, configures and maintains multiplatform systems hardware, software and components. Develops, designs, integrates and maintains all computer applications. Prepares release planning for software and hardware across the system. Ensures system conforms with architectural objectives. Evaluates complex system's production readiness and supportability. Performs the restoration of routine to complex computing service operations. Integrates security solutions into information systems.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires an active U.S. TOP SECRET Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
Position Responsibilities:

• Employ best practices when implementing security requirements within an information system including software engineering methodologies, system/security engineering principles, secure design, secure architecture, and secure coding techniques.
• Work directly with programs to ensure Information Technology infrastructure solutions meet the program requirements and schedules
• Provide comprehensive end-to-end computing support in closed environments from desktops to servers
• Provide broad range of systems and application support
• Prepares release planning for software and hardware across the system, including patch management
• Administer user system access and establishing safeguards to protect information to meet security requirements
• Develops, designs, integrates and maintains all computer applications.
• Evaluates complex system's production readiness and supportability.
• Performs the restoration of routine to complex computing service operations.
• Integrates security solutions into information systems.
• Protect classified and proprietary information

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• This position requires employees are RMF compliant with a Security+ certificate or obtain that within first 6 months.
• 3+ years of experience administering user system access and establishing safeguards to protect information to meet network security requirements
• 3+ years' experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and administering current Windows Server 2016 - 2019 and Desktop Operating Systems - Windows 10
• 3+ years of experience supporting Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) or Boeing developed software applications
• 3 + years Hardware installation and troubleshooting experience
• Experience troubleshooting Group Policy Objects (GPOs)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• 5+ years of experience designing & implementing IT Security Systems
• 10% Travel may be required
• Be very detail oriented and able to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
• 5+ years' experience troubleshooting operating system and installation problems
• Familiarity with Windows Server and Desktop Operating Systems (Server 2016-2019, Windows 10, 20h2)
• Familiarity with maintaining/configuring AD to include applying domain group policies
• Familiarity with a VMware virtual network environment.
• Experience creating and maintaining multiple virtual servers based on VMware
• Prior/current experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and administering support for Unix / Linux (RHEL) server/workstation
• Develop PowerShell and Linux scripts to enable consistent, high-quality integration of hardware assets
• Experience with scripts to automate deployment and configuration of operating systems
• Experience in Agile Methodologies
• Experience with a broad range of basic systems and application support
  
  • Experience evaluating and effectively communicating complex system problems and resolution
  • Experience with System Backups, Network switch configuration,
  • May require varying worktimes as needed.
• 5 or more years' experience managing closed networks.
• Participate in the planning and execution of upgrades and patches for operating systems and COTS software
• Build and maintain information systems that comply with Joint Special Access Program Implementation Guide / Risk Management Framework (JSIG / RMF) security requirements

Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically 5 or more years' related work experience or relevant military experience. Advanced degree (eg. bachelor, master, etc) preferred but not required.
