Vendor Management Specialist
The Senior Vendor Management Specialist is responsible for overseeing the vendor account management and contract management processes and complex vendor negotiations. The Senior Vendor Management Specialist leads engagement with suppliers, ensuring effective collaboration, performance measurement and improvement, as well as driving efficiency. The Senior Vendor Management Specialist is responsible for leading the strategic sourcing of solutions, working closely with associated teams in DPEP Technology & Digital.
Responsibilities :
- Leads engagement with vendors and suppliers, ensuring effective collaboration, performance measurement and improvement, and driving efficiency.
- Ensures consistency in the way vendors are managed across DPEP Technology & Digital in order to provide value for money by partnering effectively with vendors.
- Provides expertise around contracting, SLAs, and negotiation.
- Includes contract negotiation and management for software, hardware, leases, consulting engagements, and non-disclosure agreements.
- May include intellectual property analysis within contracts.
- Guides the development of vendor strategy and planning, working closely with DPEP Technology & Digital leadership.
- Ensures alignment with DPEP Technology & Digital processes and procedures.
- Maintains an up-to-date view of all current DPEP Technology & Digital partners and key suppliers, and their performance.
- Assesses key suppliers in terms of their strategic importance, and develops relationship and governance plans accordingly.
- Builds strategic and collaborative relationships with IT partners and key suppliers.
- Oversees RFP process and vendor selection, providing best practice and negotiation strategies, working closely with DPEP Technology & Digital vendors.
- Oversees supplier performance management.
- Working with supplier relationship owners from across DPEP Technology & Digital, reviews suppliers’ contracts to identify opportunities to improve in terms of cost savings, scope changes, terms and conditions, SLAs, risk management, termination and renewal clauses, penalties, and rewards.
- Drives competition across suppliers to deliver best long-term value and service delivery.
- Ensures that effective scorecard and performance management tools and routines are in place, to ensure that suppliers deliver and exceed their obligations and agreed service levels.
- Drives continuous improvement in terms of service and supplier innovation.
- Provides leadership for contract reviews, issues, and escalations.
- Ensures vendors and DPEP Technology & Digital are aligned on common goals.
- Advises on policies and procedures for covering the selection of suppliers and vendors.
Basic Qualifications :
- Four-year degree or greater in field such as Information Technology or similar field or related work experience.
- Strong experience with ServiceNow applications and workflows
- Experience with Service Owner or Product Owner responsibilities for one or more IT services
- Five years’ experience managing and sourcing IT vendors.
- Strong understanding of all stages in a project lifecycle, including where vendor selection occurs.
- Experience with managing third-party suppliers and contract negotiations
Required Education :
- Four-year degree or greater in field such as Information Technology or similar field or related work experience.
