Job Summary

Responsible for leading the transition of plan activity into or out of OneAmerica. The Transition Services department provides support to Retirement Services division in the following areas: managing onboarding of new clients, advisors, consultants, vendors, and internal partners through the transition process when converting plan level information, sensitive participant information, and plan assets into and out of OA Retirement Services. This includes all defined customer market segments, plan types, and product offerings for new business, merger activity, and outgoing business. This role is essential for effectively implementing the operations and systems functionalities according to design and client administrative needs that adhere to all applicable policies, procedures, processes and regulatory rules. The Transition Manager adds value to the organization by setting the client up for success in administration for the long term, which directly impacts revenue to OneAmerica.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Set expectations, provide guidance & consultation, build client trust & relationship, escalate as needed, sales final support, understand plan design service implications
  • Lead the implementation of plan activity with accountability for all transition related activity within the implementation.
  • Work independently to ensure service level agreements, all contractual documentation, and ongoing administration client needs are in place.
  • Coordinate the transmission of sensitive participant data, plan data, payroll transactions as well as the transfer of assets during the implementation process, working closely with vendors and internal associates and all applicable business units within OA Retirement Services.
  • Review and discuss past plan operations, payroll and desired enhancements with the client, external consultants, prior provider, and internal parties.
  • Review and discuss transition activities and timelines with all key stakeholders.
  • Lead the implementation of participant data and transfer of multiple data files to and from prior providers, plan sponsors and vendors to insure proper functionality and access of systems for all users - participants, plan sponsors, internal specialists
  • Mitigate financial risk by ensuring accuracy and timeliness of implementation activity, including investment of transferred assets and participant account balance activity. Adherence to checks, balances and controls.
  • Coordinate asset transfer activities to insure timely and accurate initial investment of plan assets, including loans, and verification that all assets have transferred for the plan through complete and accurate asset reconciliation.
  • Review and discuss plan design and administration needs with the client and external/internal consultants to meet the needs of the client and participants for ongoing plan administration.
  • Review and discuss past plan operations, payroll and desired enhancements with the client, external consultants, prior provider and internal parties.
  • Prepare and communicate plan specific procedures for client and internal servicing teams.
  • Conduct training for Plan Sponsor for website functionality.
  • Lead the orderly and timely facilitation of the plan deconversion of clients away from OneAmerica.
  • Work with internal partners including plan managers, relationship managers and operations representatives all though out the process as well as external clients, advisors and successor recordkeepers to ensure timing requirements and expectations are met for liquidation, transfer, and delivery of timely reporting.
  • Work independently to ensure service level agreements, all contractual documentation, and ongoing administration client needs are in place.

Job Requirements

Required Education and/or Certifications

  • Bachelor's Degree



Recommended Education and/or Certifications

  • ASPPA QKA or QPA; CEBS or RPA suggested.



Required Work Experience

  • 2 + years expereience in transition or retirement services industry or related experience
  • Or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background



Salary Band: 04C

This selected candidate will be expected to work Hybrid in Indianapolis, IN.
