The Red Hat North America (NA) Commercial Services team is looking for a Transformation Lead to join us. In this role, you'll need to be a passionate organizational change expert and leader who enjoys mentoring others. You should have record designing and leading large-scale, impactful change initiatives, either in a consulting role with external customers, or internally as an employee at a large organization. You will work as part of a team of subject matter experts who cocreate innovative software solutions using emerging technologies, modern software design methods, and operationally excellent platforms. You'll be a catalyst for building communities and centers of excellence (CoEs) with our customers focused on modern governance and change management practices. You will collaborate with customers and partners to accelerate their product development and platform engineering capabilities by teaching them new ways of working together to deliver business value. As you do so, you will create lasting enthusiasm for building great software offerings using the principles of open source culture. As a Transformation Lead, you will be a subject matter expert in open digital transformation practices. You will also provide transformational thought leadership to our sales, partner, and customer success teams throughout the full customer life cycle, provide open practice thought leadership to Red Hat sales and delivery teams and existing and prospective customers to help identify, pursue, win, and deliver strategic open transformation opportunities, and provide delivery and oversight to the delivery of transformation engagements. This is a remote-based position with future travel, following Red Hat's COVID-19 guidelines, which can be located anywhere in the U.S. within close proximity to an airport. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do

  • Craft transformation delivery engagement experiences to lead our customers on the journey of meaningful changes that will help them achieve their business goals
  • Use your experience applying programmatic DevSecOps strategies and organizational change practices to facilitate customer success in cultural change
  • Lead the coaching and enablement of delivery teams on modern infrastructure, operations, and application design and development practices
  • Use your knowledge of and experience with open source communities to foster a culture of excellence in collaboration with Red Hat and customer teams
  • Apply your emotional competencies to building solid, trusted adviser relationships with customers
  • Share your expertise delivering business value through experience as a product designer or product manager or in a professional services role, applying methodologies like design thinking and lean
  • Use your expertise in designing and delivering written and verbal assessments to customers to position the prescriptive steps, interventions, and experiments at the systemic, strategic, and tactical levels to carry out a transformation program taking advantage of Red Hat's technology
  • Use your knowledge and expertise in organizational design and organizational change management patterns to support sustainable platform operating models
  • Design experiments with tangible metrics based on informed hypotheses in order to solve problems in large ecosystems and map customer success goals onto tactical delivery work
  • Grow your competencies and thought leadership by innovating on our current thinking and developing new approaches to change how organizations and teams better deliver software and systems
  • Apply your leadership skills to mentor Red Hat's consultants and architects, as well as customer senior leaders up to the C-suite
  • Lead delivery of large, impactful transformation engagements comprising multiple value streams and customer stakeholders from the C-suite to software and platform engineers
  • Lead presales engagements to help customers understand what they need to change in order to achieve their business goals


What you will bring

  • Expertise in applying software development practices including test-driven development (TDD), business-driven development (BDD), continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD), GitOps, Everything as Code (EaC), and object-oriented, imperative, and procedural design and Development
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration using platforms and technologies like Red Hat OpenShift, Kubernetes, or Linux
  • Expertise in facilitation techniques and practices from the Open Practice Library (https://openpracticelibrary.com) or similar
  • Experience implementing automated governance strategies and technologies
  • Expertise in methodologies and practices including agile, DevSecOps, site reliability engineering (SRE), domain-driven design (DDD), systematic program design, and team topologies
  • Experience with automation and configuration management using tools like Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, Terraform, Puppet, or Chef
  • Ability to define meaningful success metrics across multiple technology domains
  • Comfortable working with highly distributed teams, including interaction with open source communities
  • Solid verbal, writing, and presentation skills
  • Ability to study on your own and quickly learn and put into practice new technologies, techniques, and methodologies
  • Passion for open source software
