Overview
The Correspondent Document Specialist I coordinates the trailing document review process and acts as a key liaison between Client and document custodian.
Job Description

  • Manages a portfolio of outstanding trailing documents by communicating with Clients; engages title companies/county recorders offices as appropriate.
  • Prepares monthly Client level trailing documents reports.
  • Acts as liaison between the Client and document custodian.
  • Participates in weekly portfolio review meetings with management; responsible for providing meaningful updates and action plans.
  • Escalates issues to management/sales as appropriate; schedules and participates in conference calls; responsible for all resulting action items.
  • Researches and resolves loan level exceptions identified through the document custodian review process.
  • Maintains accurate documentation of actions taken on each loan; meets SLA's and updates comments as necessary.
  • Researches and prepares check requests for missing trailing documents.
  • Monitors the completion of 203k's and escrow holdbacks; escalates issues as appropriate.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned

Ideal Candidate will have the following:

  • Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices & procedures.
  • Relies on experience & judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Knowledge of basic computer software programs, including Internet, Windows and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be highly proficient in Excel and Word
  • Must be a team player with strong attention to detail and able to work independently
  • Proven track record at delivering timely and accurate information in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, mathematical skills and sound judgment
  • Financial Services and, if possible, mortgage industry experience preferred
  • Strong business acumen and ability to interface with executive management
