We have an exciting opportunity for a Technology Transfer Information Technologist to join our team with the Science and Exploration Department.
- The Exploration Technology Office (ETO) exists to enable human space exploration through technology development, technology transfer and partnership formulation "for the benefit of all humankind."
- As NASA embarks on its next era of exploration, the Exploration Technology Office is focused on advancing technologies and partnerships to develop new capabilities to support the NASA and Johnson Space Center missions, and we are looking for a team member to help us make this happen.
- The Information Technologist will work with our Technology Transfer team to clean, analyze, summarize, and perform calculations on large data sets and create data visualization programs out of these data sets.
- Further work would include designing and developing dashboards to provide management the tools needed to make powerful data-driven decisions and developing frameworks to automate and integrate business workflow into SharePoint web environments.
- The candidate should also be prepared to perform large scale demos to increase interest in data-driven decision making.
- Perform other tasks assigned.
Qualifications

- Typically has a BS degree in a computer or system science discipline from an accredited college or university.
- Ability to perform calculations on large data sets and create data visualization programs out of these data sets.
- Ability to communicate with business specialists and engineers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Exemplary organizational skills and careful attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Working knowledge of and experience with MS Office.
Requisition Preferences:
- Candidate must have a BS or MS degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology & Management or a related discipline
- Preferred that candidate have working knowledge of the following IT Skills:
- Languages: Python, HTML, CSS, Node.JS, JavaScript, SQL
- Database Management: MS Access, SalesForce, SQL
- Software Packages: Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office 365, Visual Studio, ConnectWise
- Tools: PowerBI, PowerAutomate, PowerApps
- Libraries: Pandas, MatplotLib, NumPy, Tkinter, Plotly, Bootstrap
- Work History:
- Preferred that the candidate have previous NASA internship experience

Essential Functions
Work Environment
Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.
Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).
Equipment and Machines
Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).
Attendance
Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
