As a Team Manager, you will direct the efforts of an agile development team in all aspects of the design, development, and delivery of software and database solutions that meet the needs of our customers and adapt with the market. You will report directly to the Product Family Leader.

The Role

You will be a leader and mentor to others, a practicing advocate of best practices, and an active coach and team player across our organization. Candidates must thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment, helping their team experiment without compromise to the core needs of our business. You will manage a team while interacting with many others, so excellent interpersonal and communication skills are a must.

  • Facilitate the alignment and contributions of several different functional disciplines on the cross-functional team to ensure effective value delivery
  • Work closely with your Product Manager to help align implementation efforts with the product vision and roadmap in a coordinated effort to ensure stakeholder business needs are being met
  • Possess empathy for the team members you manage and join them in their successes and failures
  • Manage the members of an agile software development team, while coordinating with managers of other teams
  • Conduct 1-on-1 meetings with direct reports to develop a career path and facilitate career development goals
  • Administer HR concerns, team growth, and organization, including participating in the hiring process
  • Adhere to and advocate for development best practices including continuous delivery, test driven development, and agile methodologies, through individual and team mentorship
  • Accountable for the team's productivity and quality, and measuring/reporting product and team health
  • Assist team with coordination across multiple technical and non-technical teams and continuous improvement of the software development life-cycle
  • Last line of defense in critical situations (e.g. production fires)
  • Develop leaders and instill accountability and ownership within your team



The Requirements

  • Strong experience in producing software in an agile environment, previous experience as a Manager or Team Lead is a plus
  • Understanding of the challenges of a cross-functional environment with a demonstrated ability to bring peers and partners together for the successful implementation of initiatives
  • Great attitude in high pressure situations with ability to negotiate and influence effective outcomes, and motivate others that may not share your priorities
  • Ability to balance tactical and strategic thinking and processes with demonstrated skill at translating strategy into specific goals, tactics, action plans and deliverables and effectively communicating across broad audiences
  • Communicate effectively with team members, other teams, and other managers
