Position Overview

The Technology Services Specialist is responsible for the effective utilization and support of technology devices and enterprise technology services used by all Securian associates, field partners, and distribution channels.

Responsibilities

Effective utilization for technology devices and technology services includes providing:

• Safe and secure design, infrastructure, process and distribution
• Training, technical problem solving and support/monitoring services.
• Research, consultation and marketing of effective practices to the Home Office (and Field, where appropriate) to increase usage, streamline processes, improve productivity, fulfill compliance and regulatory mandates, and achieve long-term expense and productivity goals.

Requirements

• Full proficiency gained through job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience to perform a range of tasks
• Takes a broad perspective to problems and spots new, less obvious solutions
• Identifies key issues and patterns from partial/conflicting data
• Completes work with a limited degree of supervision
• Likely to act as an informal resource for colleague with less experience

Physical Job Requirements

• Ability to utilize keyboard, mouse and computer for up to 8 hours per day
• Ability to work at least 40 hours per week OR if non-standard schedule is required i.e., 3 days/week x 12 hours/day indicate this here
• Ability to utilize telephone for 2-4 hours per day
• Ability to perform grasping tasks 2-4 hours per day] (examples: handwriting, grasping of equipment/machines, paper manipulation, sorting, folding, handling stacks of paper)
