Job Description About the Business Group
As part of the Global Technology organization the Chief Technology Office ('CTO') oversees enabling components inclusive of the top-quality engineering and architecture tools and practices, key program management and processes as well as the technology workforce strategy required to make us a leading technology company for our customers, clients and colleagues around the world.
The GT Workforce Strategy team within CTO is responsible for delivering programs that help the firm execute on our cultural, innovation and modernization goals for all our technologists globally. We foster and inspire an engaged workforce to anticipate and adopt new and emerging technology capabilities, modern engineering practices and architectural constructs. Our Technology Center Managers are key execution enablers of multiple components of this strategy.
The local Tech Center Leadership team is comprised of the Tech Center Lead, Tech Center Manager and local leads of the Tech Center workstreams. Today, JPMC Technology is engaged in a global uplift of our technology capabilities and our technology centers play a critical role in that transformation. The local Tech Center leadership provides direct and indirect support to range of the transformation activities and we are seeking a candidate whose technical fluency will enable them to strategically support their local teams.
About the Role
The Technology Center Manager ('TCM') as an integral part of the local Technology Center Leadership team plays a critical role by bridging activities across the worksteams, providing program management support for workstream driven events and leveraging best practices across the globe. This role is responsible for local support and execution oversight of various activities and deliverables to ensure strategic alignment and meaningful impact. The manager also collaborates with other global TCMs on best practices across disparate technology sites.
As an experienced professional in technology transformation and Project Execution, you thrive at managing complex technology programs that have far-reaching implications for clients, employees and stakeholders throughout the firm. This role requires a strong grasp of the big-picture - namely, how can technology help achieve business goals - as well as a keen ability to establish priorities, manage resources and budgets, and build and incentivize high-performing teams. You'll work closely with colleagues across the firm to identify opportunities to develop projects and programs that are broadly applicable. Once you and your team establish a roadmap, you'll play an integral role in ensuring that the project is running on time, within budget and in accordance with firm-wide guidelines, including risk and architecture. Just as importantly, you'll work with your team to set goals, foster collaboration and promote the values, culture and brand of JPMorgan Chase & Co.
Key responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Support the development, execution and monitoring of the global small Technology Centers strategy and act as the TCM for our smaller locations
  • Support technologists based outside our Tech Centers (either full-time work from home employees or small teams like data center staff) ensuring access to appropriate GT programming and supporting effective cultural integration within JPMC technology, regardless of line of business assignment
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the Technology Center Lead/s in strategizing, syndicating and implementing the Global Technology Center strategy and GT Vision transformational program and activities while maintaining a broad view of the smaller tech sites and their unique needs and character
  • Prioritization of Technology Center activities in line with transformation strategy
  • Ensure workstreams are operational and provide advice and counsel to the workstream leads and maintain a horizontal view across all the workstreams. Ensure each workstream has the appropriate funding and approvals to execute their initiatives
  • Assess site community and communications needs and develop strategies aligned to the Technology Center's key priorities and objectives.
  • Responsible on communication coordination and delivery; Ensure clear and consistent communication channels and cadence with site technologists. Evaluate periodically to validate effectiveness
  • Partner with the Internal Communications workstream to set technology site communications strategy consistent and in conjunction with GT communication priorities and messaging.
  • Act as an empowered delegate for local budget and financial oversight
  • Identify new opportunities in support of the tech center strategy based on ongoing evaluation of key location-based metrics
  • Supports GT Workforce strategy global practice leads with activity facilitation and assisting the launch of new initiatives
  • Manage the Tech Center governance, including leadership forums and metrics collation; Organize, run and track action items from Tech Center Leadership meetings and off sites, including town halls
  • Support the Tech Center Program with other ad hoc project management, strategy building and execution as needed (e.g. mobility program).
  • Raise up issues and conflicts, investigate options, provide implementation support.


This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
  • Ability to create and maintain relationships with a wide range of technology and non-technology stakeholders throughout the firm
  • Demonstrated capabilities in managing senior stakeholders through difficult situations resulting in positive outcomes
  • Demonstrated capabilities in stakeholder management; budget management, risk management and operations
  • Demonstrated capabilities in large-scale technology transformation initiatives
  • Understanding of global and line of business project and technology program management standards and methods
  • Experience working with high-performing teams in complex technology program execution
