ABOUT THE ROLE

The Technical Trainer is responsible for organizing and delivering on site customer training as well as internal company training. This person will also participate in the development of education documentation and other resources.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Learn and maintain Accela and third-party technical knowledge quickly using pre-release documentation and pre-release software and hardware.
  • Train clients, internal employees and partners.
  • Acquire and maintain an in-depth understanding of the Accela implementation methodology, system functionality and Accela internal process. 
  • Develop training resources to include course guides and videos.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop learning solutions that support University goals by applying tested instructional design theories, practice, and methods.
  • Coordinate with managers and the customer to identify program needs, obtain technical data, and schedule programs.
  • Facilitate and/or present Accela Product training classes at various levels of difficulty via virtual classroom (public, onsite), and recorded formats.
  • Identify best method of training delivery based upon training needs.
  • Create course content and visual aids (audio, video, simulations, e-learning modules, etc).
  • Create knowledge articles, SOPs, guides, and other materials to ensure participants effectively learn presented materials.
  • Learn and maintain Accela and third-party technical knowledge quickly using pre-release documentation and pre-release software and hardware.
  • Develop customer needs assessments, meet quality standards for services, and evaluates customer satisfaction.
  • Use exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including virtual/online delivery of multi-day classes.
  • Contribute and assist in development of effective and sustainable training courseware and curriculum.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS and three (3) years of experience, or a combination of education and work experience equivalent to 5 years.
  • 3-5 years of experience facilitating remotely in a technical training environment required.
  • A strong technical background and experience with Accela Software (Civic Platform) and programming languages (JavaScript preferred).
  • Knowledge and hands on experience implementing Accela Solutions or similar preferred.
  • Understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS or JavaScript) and experience with any programming/scripting language essential.
  • High level of flexibility, creativity, and dependability.
  • Ability to think independently and demonstrates exceptional written and oral communications skills.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office applications, including: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as learning technologies such as video design tools, LMS' and web conferencing applications (Zoom).

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience implementing/configuring Accela Solutions.
  • Five or more years of experience with adult learning techniques and creating lesson plans and curriculum.
  • Some instructional design experience preferred.
  • Experience with content development software such as Camtasia and Articulate Storyline.
  • Visual design skills and experience creating storyboards.
  • SQL and PowerBI functional knowledge.

The base pay hiring range for this position is $60,000 - $75,000 per year. The base pay offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on factors such as the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.  A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of health, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the location where the position is offered.
