Technical Support Specialist

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the product install base by providing technical assistance to customers and service teams in accordance with ABB standard processes and safety guidelines, with the goal of delivering excellent customer service to satisfy customers.
This position reports to

Production Supervisor
Your responsibilities

  • Contribute to customer satisfaction by maintaining a good relationship, providing support, and identifying new opportunities to meet customer orders and expectations
  • Utilizing knowledge on existing installed base, provide customers and/or service teams with appropriate technical support during the life of the product and identifies acute technical problem to advise corrective solutions when needed
  • Log and track technical support cases through SFDC following appropriate process and procedures
  • Assist with coordination and preparation of material, parts, and equipment availability for appropriate service activities
  • Provide training to customers, service team members, and third-party service providers as a SME on designated products
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to ensure customer support is maintained 24-7

Your background

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical related field (years experience will be considered)
  • 5+ yrs. experience in a testing, engineering, or field service environment
  • Thorough understanding of electrical/electronic technology.
  • Thorough understanding of electrical safety guidelines and PPE
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 applications
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP application, PLM applications, and SFDC or other CRM tools
  • Able to communicate on technical and non-technical level
  • Self-sufficient and self-motivated; able to work with limited supervision
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
