This position is in Trust Operations on the Securities team. The primary responsibilities of this associate will be support of asset movement into and out of Trust Company accounts, mail processing, and safekeeping client assets (specifically tangible personal property). The role will require interpretation of information and ability to make subjective decisions that have a moderate to high level of risk or that may have legal, regulatory, or financial implications. Decisions must ensure collaboration with a variety of roles and support functions within Trust Operations and/or the Trust Company. The position is required to understand rules & regulations and the impact they have on: Trust Administration, Asset Movement, Insurance and Annuities claims processing, systems, and controls; along with identifying inherent and potential risks and making recommendations to mitigate.

The position may have a variety of daily and periodic responsibilities based on Trust Operations and requires a strong working knowledge of financial services industry rules, processes, systems, and controls.

Other responsibilities may include:

  • Train and coaching of associates within or across multiple business areas.
  • Analyze, research, and interpret complex information in order to make subjective decisions.
  • Subject matter expert on one or more business area functions including a strong understanding of both how and why the work is performed.
  • Serve as business area floater when business needs arise.
  • Provide detailed analysis of information along with alternative solutions and present recommendations to business area leaders for process or system improvements.
  • Frequent communication with home office leaders, branch offices, and/or vendors to resolve issues, answer escalated questions and carry out responsibilities.
  • Reconciliation of internal firm account balances or research and resolve complex, non-routine out-of-balance conditions.
  • Support new technology or system upgrades through gathering requirements, developing & executing system tests, providing readiness sign off, and supporting all aspects of implementation.

Position Requirements

  • In-Office in St. Louis
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in the financial services industry or related field is required. Familiarity with industry and Trust specific regulations is required within 6 months.
  • Specific licenses may be required, but only if the specific function is covered by a Rule that requires it. Series 99 license is preferred.
  • Knowledge of complex systems and system interdependencies within Operations necessary.
