JOB DESCRIPTION

Dcode is looking for a passionate Tech Engagement Manager to work hands-on with startup technology companies that are part of Dcode’s accelerator program as they build their federal government business to advance government missions and solve problems. Dcode’s companies span areas ranging from AI to space tech to cybersecurity - we work with the best in private sector technologies to help bring them to the government. 

At a high level, you’ll be responsible for:

• Advising and supporting these tech startups as they look to grow their business in the government market. This may include everything from helping them write and edit proposals, to helping get contracting questions answered and connecting them with relevant government stakeholders and industry partners. Your metric for success will be dollars on contract for each company as a result of your efforts.
• Keeping our amazing community of companies engaged via events and an online engagement platform. Your key metric for success here will be level of engagement and happiness across our community.
• Developing new and exciting ways for us to leverage our relationships with some of the most innovative tech companies in the country to improve government.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Development Support and Advisory

• Advise startup companies participating in Dcode’s accelerator on their go-to-market strategy in the federal market
• Support Dcode’s portfolio by helping to identify and close sales opportunities within the government
• Plan, coordinate, and execute startup company-related program activities including meetings with government and partners, as well as ongoing educational sessions
• Support the collection and monitoring of internal Dcode performance measures, as they relate to our companies’ success

Community Building

• Work with Dcode’s product and marketing teams to provide content and creative ideas for an online platform for Dcode companies to engage with Dcode and each other
• Establish relationships with service providers that can help our companies succeed in areas including marketing, sales, compliance, and more
• Create and deliver recurring outreach communications to companies 
• Identify and build out new ways to keep Dcode’s companies engaged to facilitate an interconnected community across Dcode’s business lines

Events and Engagement

• Plan, organize, and execute Dcode events to generate awareness around our programs, engage our community, and help connect tech, government, and industry
• Represent Dcode and Dcode’s companies at conferences and events, and at meetings with leaders from government, industry, and venture capital

KEY SKILLS

You’ll learn something new every day in this role. We’ll teach you the ropes but ideal candidates will have:

• 5+ years of work experience with experience in business development, software sales, government contracts, or customer success preferred
• Strong interest in technology, startups, and government
• The ability to work independently without being closely managed
• An ability to listen to customers and discern needs
• A willingness and ability to support operations in a fast-paced environment
• Proven problem solving, self-management, and organizational skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
