About the role:
Team Leads manage a development team that owns either an Area Path of the product or of the core platform services. They care for people on the team through their career development, define and guide that team’s technology, and closely collaborate with the rest of R&D and our Product and Design teams.
Responsibilities:
Area leadership
- Understand and communicate team prioritization, clearing obstacles and connecting the work back to customer value and company objectives
- Show impedance and capacity for your team
- Conduct and manage team-level cadence and communication in a manner conducive to success
- Focus on, measure and protect your team’s ability to ensure quality
- Visualize and minimize team WIP
- Monitor and share key dev metrics for your team, such as KPIs and code coverage
- Collaborate with other Team Leads and R&D Leadership on our technology direction and team processes to support our global, asynchronous team
- Escalate team, cross-team or technology issues
People leadership
- Create space and opportunities for learning and improving
- Encourage and reward work that facilitates collaboration
- Conduct regular 1x1s with your direct reports
- Work with your team members to plan and facilitate their growth
- Assess performance for your team members
- Hire and mentor the team with an emphasis on growth, inclusion and diversity
Qualifications:
- Ability to demonstrate our values in an on-going and consistent way
- BS degree or higher in a relevant field or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of applicable experience in a development organization
