What will your day look like?
The Systems Engineer serves as the first line of support for the System Engineering team. Responsibilities include troubleshooting 3rd level service desk tickets until resolution and working directly with Alliant’s Service Desk as needed. General direction is received from the Sr. Manager, Infrastructure.
Responsibilities

- Serve as an administrator on Active Directory and manage additions, changes or deletions to the tree structure and group policies as necessitated by the business environment.
- Ensure environment is updated with current, stable versions of software products; maintain currency with operating system and support software; plan and implement major software upgrades; ensure change management procedures and methodologies are implemented and followed; provide a current, well-managed operating environment for production processing and application development.
- Troubleshoot and successfully diagnoses server hardware or software problems of all levels of complexity.
- Provide support for data located on encrypted storage.
- Troubleshoots 3rd level Service Desk tickets until resolution and work directly with hardware software vendors when necessary.
- Provide support to core server systems (Symitar Hardware) which include: firmware upgrades, releases, patches, ECP/Disaster recovery planning and testing, backup and vaulting of data to TLV (Transaction Log Vaults).
- Provide support for Multi-Hosts Nodes (Symitar): Upgrades, Updates and patches
- Provide 24x7x365 support on all systems to meet departmental Service Level Agreements.
- Provide support for business continuity by ensuring daily backup schedules are completed and provide on-site support for annual disaster recovery test.
- Build, develop, and manage the Windows Systems, including organizing the development of Operating System technical support, operational software, and server hardware platform capabilities.
- Define and monitor multiple project priorities and provide technical and administrative supervision; ensure appropriate management is apprised of operational status of projects.
- Provide appropriate hardware/software resources for business applications; perform capacity planning, workload modeling/prediction, and purchasing recommendations for new hardware/software upgrades; provide business applications enough resources for their short-term and long-term growth.
- Document all projects deployed and ensures cross-training to team members is completed.
Adhere to and ensure compliance of all business transactions with policy and process of the Bank Secrecy Act Ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal laws, company procedures and policies. Maintains integrity and ethics in all actions and conversations with or regarding credit union members and their accounts. Complies with Privacy Act directives.
Where permitted by applicable law, successful applicants to this position must either have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccination by date of hire to be considered (proof of vaccination is required), or be willing to submit a negative COVID-19 test result in advance of each visit to an Alliant facility.

You’ll be a great fit if in addition to the Completion of a BA/BS in Computer Science, IT or related engineering discipline or a minimum of 3 years directly related experience in the design, configuration, deployment and administration of network hardware and software, and you have:
