The National Systems Group (NSG) serves as the technical advisor to the Intelligence Community and its mission partners involved in the collection and distribution of national and tactical intelligence, including electronics programs, advanced technologies, ground and communications, imagery programs, and systems engineering and launch.
The Survivability and Resilience Office (SRO), within the Advanced Technology Division of NSG, provides programmatic and technical expertise in support of several Major System Acquisitions and risk-tolerant technology demonstration missions which shape the resiliency of the customer's Space Enterprise. We are looking for a Systems Director for the Resiliency Futures Office in SRO to lead an impactful Aerospace team providing influential guidance on a Space Program that is high priority for our customers and national stakeholders. The criticality of the portfolio is recognized throughout the National Security Space community which allows for opportunities to network and build strong external partnerships.
This position requires 100% on site work in Chantilly, VA
What You'll Be Doing
- Shaping the future of Resilient Space applications though leadership of an impactful team
- Applying Aerospace engineering and laboratory expertise to the reduction of Program risks in the areas of technology development, technology maturation and space and ground capabilities
- Providing thought leadership to Program Management in the area of strategic planning for future resilient systems
- Building networks across the Enterprise to assist in implementing strategies for a resilient space system and reducing risks for the Program
- Applying management skills to assure fiscal year staffing levels and budget allocations are met
- Championing for employee development opportunities
- Assuring individual and team recognition is received
What You Need To Be Successful
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Math or related technical field.
- At least 12 years of experience in space systems and/or space technology development
- Experience in delivering space hardware through assembly, I&T and environmental testing
- Ability to identify design, producibility and system performance challenges in space and ground systems
- Experience ensuring end-to-end performance of a system across program segments
- Initiative and a strong desire to lead in a dynamic environment with an appetite for teambuilding on multiple efforts concurrently
- Influential verbal, written and presentation skills
- Willingness to travel domestically approximately one to two times per month
- Hybrid work arrangements for remote work schedules are not possible in this position
- This position requires a current and active TS/SCI security clearance with SSBI and counter-intelligence polygraph, which is issued by the US government. Additional customer security requirements may apply. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

- Masters and/or PhD in Engineering, Science, Math or related technical field
- Management / Team leadership experience over projects or products in a dynamic environment
- Ability to identify space program risks and propose associated mitigation strategies
- Experience in developing technology for demonstration and/or operational space systems
