There is no challenge that we can't turn into opportunity, and our work depends on a Systems Administrator/Customer Services and Information Technology Officer joining our team to support critical Government activities in McLean, VA.

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Systems Administrator/Customer Services and Information Technology Officer (CSITO) supporting the mission partner, you will be trusted to provide software and hardware support. In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Working as part of a motivated, high-performing team
  • Tier 1 troubleshooting of hardware, networks, and systems, supporting a mix of enterprise and standalone systems, maintaining hardware and the configuration management for switches, routers, and storage arrays.
  • Direct customer interactions and virtual support across multiple countries and activities
  • Hardware replacement to include workstations, drives, and consumables
  • Collaborating with teammates and government customers to identify process improvements
  • Lending expertise and institutional knowledge to less experienced personnel to improve the overall technical excellence of the team
  • Manage personal metrics, alignment to KPI's, and the office's ticket queue



Ideal candidates will be comfortable in a fast-paced work environment, contributing to a team-based environment and be able to take direction but also be a self-starter. The incumbent should be personable, well organized, and analytical with attention to detail.

The incumbent in this position works in a 24/7 operational environment, working a non-rotating schedule. The incumbent currently works on a 4/10 schedule, Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday (4am to 2pm).

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years related experience.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with Active Directory, Windows 10, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office Suite, VMware, and demonstrated hardware/application troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of customer product base (software/hardware).
  • Good communication skills and team oriented.



OTHER DESIRED SKILLS

  • Ability to perform Windows and systems updates.
  • Experience using Active Directory to create and maintain user accounts groups, add workstations to domains, edit group policies, etc.
  • VMware / vSphere Client: Troubleshoot and manage virtual machines. Create snapshots, increase ram and hard drive capacity.
  • Experience with McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator to deploy ant-virus updates to workstations and servers.
  • Experience with basic Cisco router / switch commands and configurations (show commands, name devices, add VLANs).
  • Ability to Troubleshoot Hardware to include High-Definition Video Switches and Routers, Video Transmitters and Receivers, Clear-Com audio and Eclipse Chassis, multi-cast video encoders & decoders, KVM switches, monitors, cabling (DVI-D, fiber, Ethernet, coax).
