We need our systems administrators to be versatile, enthusiastic to work in highly flexible, team-oriented environments and who have exceptional communication, analytical and organizational skills.

PROJECT:

Parsons is sourcing candidates for a project within the Department of Defense to provide a wide range of skills and expertise to perform technology development, testing, integration of hardware and software applications, and associated documentation and training.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Parsons is seeking Systems Administrators of various experience levels to perform the following:

  • Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems.
  • Manages IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems.
  • Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
  • Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems.
  • Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.
  • Provide support for the dispatch system and hardware problems, while maintaining involvement in the resolution process.
  • Configure and manage UNIX and Windows operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintains integrity, and configures network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.

REQUIRED CAPABILITIES

LEVEL 0:

  • Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems.
  • Provide assistance to users in accessing and using IT systems.
  • Provide Tier 1 problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems.
  • Manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems.

LEVEL 1:

All capabilities described in Level 0, plus

  • Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems.
  • Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
  • Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.
  • Optimize system operations and resource utilization and perform system capacity analysis and planning.

LEVEL 2:

All capabilities described in Level 0 and Level 1, plus:

  • Provide in-depth experience in trouble-shooting IT systems.
  • Provide detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets.
  • Provide support for the dispatch system and hardware problems, while maintaining involvement in the resolution process.
  • Configure and manage UNIX and Windows (or other applicable) operating systems and install/load operating system software, troubleshoot, maintain integrity of and configure network components, along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.

LEVEL 3:

All capabilities described in Level 0, Level 1, and Level 2, plus:

  • Support the design of systems, mission architecture and associated hardware.
  • Analyze and resolve complex problems associated with server hardware, applications, and software integration.
  • Possess a working knowledge and understanding of system administration interdependencies as part of the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).

QUALIFICATIONS

LEVEL 0:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Five (5) years of Systems Administrator experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.

LEVEL 1:

  • Five (5) years of experience as a Systems Administrator.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Five (5) years of Systems Administrator experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.

LEVEL 2:

  • Ten (10) years of experience as a Systems Administrator.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Five (5) years of Systems Administrator experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.

LEVEL 3:

  • Fifteen (15) years of experience as a Systems Administrator.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Five (5) years of Systems Administrator experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
