Description

SAIC has an immediate need for a Junior Systems Administrator (SA) to support the Software, Simulation, Systems Engineering & Integration Directorate (S3I) in support of the Global Positioning System (GPS) Message Router (GMR) Post Production Software Support (PPSS) sustainment located on Redstone Arsenal (Huntsville, AL).

The GMR is an essential component of the Air Warrior (AW) System that is implemented, with the Force XXI Battle Command and Below (FBCB2) and Blue Force Tracking (BFT) system.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for assisting with system patching and maintaining a system security posture in compliance with DoD information assurance policy: including Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) execution, compliance with risk management framework, and DoD/Army cybersecurity best practice conformity
  • Responsible for administration of Windows and Linux based desktop systems for test and development supporting the GMR project
  • The SA will support the project with troubleshooting of test/development systems
  • Support monitoring, diagnosing, and troubleshooting network switches, routers, and other associated network hardware and software
  • Conduct on-site installation, testing, and maintenance of IT equipment to ensure proper working order
  • Identify areas requiring product improvement

Qualifications

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience; (4) years' experience accepted in lieu of degree.

Required Skills:

  • Experience in management and troubleshooting of DoD Linux, Windows, and network systems
  • Experience in implementing system and security controls within a DoD IT environment
  • Manage installation and configuration of various COTS/GOTS/custom software and systems in accordance with DISA STIGs
  • Familiarity with vulnerability management of IT systems and maintaining a Plan of Action and Milestones (PoAaM) for Government lab systems in accordance with DoD best practices
  • Baseline certifications for appointment as a systems administrator per DoD 8570.01-M (Active Security + w/CE), current Microsoft/Linux computing environment certification, or ability to obtain a computing environment certification within 6 months of appointment
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through skills

Clearance Requirement:

  • U.S. Citizen with an Active DoD Secret clearance. Higher clearance accepted
