About the Role:
The PitchBook Information Technology Team provides our end-users with top-notch customer service and efficiency. Our team is highly collaborative in supporting our worldwide users in person, as well as remotely. We share a passion for technology and happily share our expertise among ourselves and our customers.
The System Engineer builds automation using a combination of low-code tools and Powershell to integrate systems at PitchBook such as Okta, Azure AD, on-premise AD, InTune, Autopilot, Jamf and other 3rd party SaaS applications. The engineer uses the applicant programming interface (API) of various applications to create automation solutions. The engineer is also adept at extracting, transforming and loading data between systems in an automated fashion. This role is also responsible for the maintenance of all company computer systems-such as servers, switches, firewalls and other cloud-based tools. They are also tasked with coordinating with other departments to assist in technical projects when necessary.
Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the automation of department's workflows using APIs and no code or low code solutions
  • Automate user provisioning, de-provisioning, licensing and approval workflows
  • Assist with the transition from on-premise AD to Azure AD, Intune and Autopilot
  • Plan, configure and maintain all infrastructure hardware and software systems
  • Aid with escalated helpdesk support tickets
  • Coordinate with outside vendors of hardware, software and services to provide a seamless experience for end-users, anticipate future needs and control organizational costs
  • Investigate, understand and resolve problems with local and remote infrastructure
  • Administer access, permissions and privileges for on-site resources and cloud services
  • Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested
  • Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • 4+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Experience automating with applications like Okta Workflows, Zapier, Workato or Tray.io
  • Experience automating with 3rd party applications using APIs
  • Experience managing Microsoft Azure, Intune and SCCM
  • Jamf MDM administration
  • Proficient in PowerShell
  • Okta Administration
  • Automation of provisioning and de-provisioning users
  • Windows Server administration (Active Directory, Exchange, Group Policy)
  • Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, VoIP, file servers, firewalls esp. SonicWALL, switches, Wi-Fi)
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite including in-depth knowledge of Outlook, Word and Excel with the ability to pick up new systems and software easily
  • Ticketing/issue tracking software
  • Self-directed: sets and meets deadlines, multi-tasks and prioritizes
