NOV is actively recruiting ambitious college/university graduates for a Supply Chain Specialist role that will be part of our Pathway Rotational Program.

The NOV Pathway Rotational Program offers recent college graduates the opportunity to obtain meaningful work experiences through a structured 2-to-3-year rotational program. The program is designed to help participants develop strong functional/technical expertise and business knowledge through challenging, hands-on assignments and exposure to various groups across NOV. Towards the end of the program, participants will work with their management support team to identify full-time positions that best suit individual skill sets as well as company needs.

Participants can choose from multiple career track options based on education and career interest. Each career track has its own training and experience-based learning objectives, and knowledge and performance are evaluated following each rotation.

Following the Supply Chain Management career track, primary responsibilities may include but not be limited to the following:

  • Analyze spend data, supplier capabilities and performance, and supply constraints to design effective strategies around supplier selection and management.
  • Understand our Preferred Supplier Strategy. Identify and execute methods for supplier rationalization to funnel more business to Preferred Suppliers.
  • Maintain effective and proper relations with suppliers or their representatives.
  • Place orders and determine requirements from engineering and production schedules.
  • Monitor the movement of materials through the production cycle and maintain inventory at planned levels.
  • Expedite or cancel orders based on requirements or changes in production activities.
  • Administer basic procurement functions such as maintaining sourcing rules, verifying planned orders link to demand, maintaining date integrity, and evaluating opportunities to introduce procurement programs or adjust procurement and/or planning parameters.
  • Participate in initiatives that will reduce the length of the supply chain, improve fill rates, optimize inventory, and reduce non-value-added activity and transactions
  • Define the strategy for planning and purchasing programs to streamline processes.
  • Participate in problem-solving and process improvement initiatives that may involve system development, cross-functional process adjustments, and change management.
  • Assist in troubleshooting supplier quality, delivery, and/or production problems, determine the root cause and develop plans that yield results and sustainable improvements.


We invite you to apply if you have the following qualifications and skills :

  • Recent graduate (1-2 years) from Supply Chain Management or Industrial Engineering
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
  • Working knowledge of ERP Systems (Oracle, SAP)
  • Previous experience within the Oil & Gas industry considered an asset
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent social skills with the ability to negotiate
  • Self-directed and highly motivated
  • Competitive personality with the ability to discover opportunity within gaps
