Position Summary: Provides a variety of services in the distribution of materials and support to the organization including keeping records on incoming, inter-company, outgoing material movement and preparing material for stock or shipment through the following duties.
Position Responsibilities:• Work with Purchasing or Sales to make appropriate arrangements for carriers based on delivery time requirements.• Compare identifying information and count, weigh or measure items of incoming shipments, inter-company, and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.• Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.• Compile and maintain inventory of material received, stocked, issued and shipped.• Determine method of shipment. Prepare shipments including scanning bar code labels for ASN, strapping or taping boxes, printing pack slips, paperwork for international shipments. Affix shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons. Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.• Perform cycle counts and physical inventories.• Operate hand truck, industrial truck, tier lift truck, or motor vehicle transport truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments. Inspect material handling equipment for defects and notify Supervisor. Maintain vehicle usage and maintenance log.• Keep machines and working areas clean and maintain organization of process tools and supplies.• Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.• Deliver items to departments. Distribute receiving or shipping information, i.e. packing slips, shipping requests, etc.• Promote and engage in the principles of employee involvement, team building and continuous improvement. Foster a positive attitude towards company goals.

Essential Skills and Experience:• High School Diploma or equivalent and three to five years of experience and/or training.• Must possess a strong work ethic, be capable of multi-tasking, and work well under pressure.• The individual must be versatile with Windows based spreadsheet and database software.
Preferred Skills and experience:• Associates degree• Experience in the Marine industry• German and/or Spanish language skills
