Job Description
The Integrated Components and Solutions (ICS) team is looking for a Strategy & Technology Manager located in Peoria, Illinois. As a Strategy & Technology Manager at Caterpillar, you will deliver the Divisional technology strategy objectives through development, execution, and governance of the Autonomy and Automation (A&A) technology strategy. This position governs the division technology & business initiatives and is accountable for ensuring alignment with the Operating and Execution Model.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
* Lead creation of Division/BU strategies aimed to improve product quality & performance and maximize enterprise Operating Profit After Cost of Capital (OPACC)
* Ensures Business Unit strategies are aligned with other business units and the Products and
Technology Council. Formulates, communicates, and monitors the product and technology strategy for division
* Lead and monitor division technology and business initiatives annual refresh and deployment
* Lead strategy communication with all Machine and Engine Business divisions. Delivers major technology demonstrations
* Ensure the alignment with Operating and Execution Model and other strategic business units
* Support and monitor the division's annual business plan and RBM. Facilitates the prioritization of division NPI and NTI opportunities
* Support integration of 6 Sigma results with Business Plans
* Expand the application of 6 Sigma by elimination/ inclusion of competing initiatives.
Basic Requirements:
* An engineering or advanced technical degree
* 10+ years of experience at Caterpillar in multiple businesses
* Experience in the following areas: Business Strategy Development, Change Management, Managing large projects, complex Data Analysis and Business Plan development, Business Case development, Technology competitive landscape experience
* Previous experience working with Caterpillar dealers
Top Candidates will also have:
* Business acumen
* Strong organization and planning skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
* Ability to communicate with executives and all levels of the organization
* Experience in Mergers & Acquisitions and intimate familiarity with the Caterpillar Technology strategy
* Ability to run large multidisciplinary programs, excellent problem solving skills, and team management capability
