As the Strategic Sourcing Specialist in the newly established Center of Excellence within the Supply Management Solutions Division of Medtronic's Global Supply Management Group, you will be exposed to a wide variety of commodities and services supporting all aspects of Medtronic strategic purchasing.

A Day in the Life

As the Strategic Sourcing Specialist, you will:

  • Provide project management and sourcing expertise to cross-functional, cross-divisional commodity teams, with a focus on execution of Sourcing events (supplier quotes, questionnaires, RFPs, RFIs and e-auctions) via the Ariba Sourcing Platform. Supports both direct and indirect spend categories.
  • Facilitate these teams in the development and execution of long-term strategies that will optimize Medtronic's position in terms of quality, cycle/response time, technology, risk, total cost, diversity, sustainability, and should-cost comparison.
  • Mitigate risk, leverages technology and purchase power, improves processes and systems, and reduces overall cost of ownership and acquisition.



Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 0 years of experience



Nice to Have

  • Experience with Ariba Sourcing or another e-Sourcing platform
  • Strategic sourcing, direct material sourcing, technical/R&D sourcing experience
  • Supplier relationship management experience
