  • Purpose of Job
    • Develop and enact strategic sourcing for assigned departments within the health system. Facilitate the proactive identification and prioritization of cost savings initiatives, working with department stakeholders to understand specific needs, assist in supplier selection and negotiate contract terms. Manage projects related to sources products and services from planning through implementation.
  • Job Requirements
    • Education
      • Bachelor's Degree in business administration, marketing or a related field required.
      • Advanced degree preferred.
    • Experience
      • Minimum 2 year's of supply sourcing, data analytics, contract review and negotiation experience required, preferably in healthcare.
      • Experience with contract review preferred.
      • Experience with project management preferred.
      • Experience with SAP Crystal Reports preferred.
    • License/Certifications
      • Valid and current driver's license required.
    • Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
      • Skill analyzing and organizing work.
      • Skill with verbal and written communication.
      • Skill developing and maintaining working relationships with internal and external contacts.
      • Skill negotiating contracts.
      • Knowledge of contract administration.
      • Knowledge of research principles and practices.
      • Knowledge of project management principles and practices.
      • Ability to use Microsoft Office.
      • Ability to communicate and present information in a clear and concise manner.
      • Ability to understand the needs of assigned departments.
      • Ability to work independently.
      • Ability to work in a collaborative environment.
      • Ability to travel to various locations in the Omaha/Council Bluffs metro.

  • Essential Job Functions
    • Essential Functions I
      • Analyze data from suppliers and internal sources to develop, implement and monitor current and future sourcing strategies, and savings opportunities.
      • Conduct market research for products and service relevant to departmental operations.
      • Work with departmental contacts to develop and issue request for proposals (RFP).
      • Proactively request and negotiate new and renewal contracts, ensuring the best possible terms for the health system.
      • Work with internal contacts to review and negotiate contract legal terms.
      • Monitor product pricing and ensure contracts are kept current. Manage meetings with department stakeholders and executive management.
      • Develop expert level knowledge of products/services used in supported departments.
      • Manage cross functional projects related to implementation and conversion of products/services.
      • Ensure proper communication related to project status occurs in a timely manner.
    • Essential Functions II
      • Participates in mandatory in-services and/or CE programs as mandated by policies and procedures/external agencies and as directed by management.
      • Follows and understands the mission, vision, core values, Employee Standards of Behavior and company policies/procedures.
      • Other duties as assigned.
