Strategic Sourcing Manager (Regional Supply Management Leader)

This is a key role within Honeywell's building systems sourcing team in North America. The role provides sourcing leadership and support to the assigned region(s). The purpose of this position is to engage with the Sales, P&E, and regional Operations teams to drive growth and margin improvement across the core Install and Services businesses. This role will have the responsibility to deliver the annual cost savings goals for the assigned region(s) through the management of local supply resources and initiatives.

As part of this role, you will establish and drive the procurement of subcontracts, materials, and services in alignment with business leaders for your assigned region(s) per the Annual Operating Plan and Strategic Plan. You will have regional responsibility for driving competitive subcontracting and supply strategies to achieve the lowest Total Cost, reduced Working capital via negotiation planning and execution, High Growth Region Sourcing, Value Engineering, and Sole/Single Source elimination. You will manage subcontractor and supplier performance to support your region and ensure supply continuity. You will be managing several projects in a dynamic global environment. You will ensure compliance with company business policies and procedures and export/import regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive and execute Annual and Strategic plan with supporting strategies
  • Manage subcontractor supply base and strategy including spend analysis, benchmarking, cost, market analysis, and global technology / economic trends
  • Drive preferred subcontractor program within assigned region(s)
  • Collaborate with operations/ Proposals &Estimation (P&E) to perform bid-leveling and vetting subcontractors
  • Build new relationships with key supplier/subcontractor leadership
  • Align with Sales, Marketing, P&E, Operations, Finance, Legal, Safety, and Other Honeywell Businesses
  • Manage and comply with sourcing processes and performance through an effective management operating system
  • Subcontract / contractor management

  • Bachelors degree in business
  • 8+ years of business experience
  • 5+ years in a sourcing capacity

  • Significant experience in procurement
  • Fluency in English (oral and written) and French (preferred)
  • Working in a matrix and complex team environment
  • Project management and/or Contract management experience
  • Professional certifications in Project/Supply Chain/Procurement/Contract Management/Six Sigma
  • Demonstrated business and financial acumen
  • Experience with SAP, E Sourcing Platforms, Request for Quotation Tools, Project Management Tools
  • Masters degree in business or related fields
  • Demonstrated management experience
  • Strong track record of success in previous roles, with continuously expanding scopes of responsibility
  • Experience with SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP and procurement systems preferred
  • Strong understanding of and experience with supplier and subcontractor negotiations, including knowledge of commercial terms and conditions related to the procurement of goods and services
  • Strong communication skills verbal and written, ability to communicate effectively to varied audiences
  • Microsoft Office Excel, Word, Outlook. MS Project, PowerPoint
  • Ability to work within and manage a cross-cultural / multi-country team to drive performance
  • Self-motivated, able to perform the role with minimal supervision
  • Experience managing multiple projects in a dynamic global environment
  • Managerial skills with emphasis on change management/leadership, problem-solving, and ability to persuade and influence all levels of the organization
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with internal customers and 3rd party suppliers/subcontractors to meet or exceed business objectives
  • Strong financial acumen: ability to understand P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow
