Apply your broad experience in the procurement of IT Infrastructure, including hardware, telco, and cloud, while interacting with Red Hat's Leadership and Executive teams. The Red Hat Global Procurement team is looking for a Strategic Sourcing Manager to join our IT Sourcing team in Raleigh, NC or remotely. In this role, you will work as part of the Global Procurement team, which is organized into major spend categories including IT, marketing, and corporate services. You'll be responsible for engaging Red Hat's stakeholders, supporting procurement strategies, leading sourcing initiatives, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier relationships. As a Strategic Sourcing Manager, your work will involve managing strategic sourcing initiatives, negotiating and reviewing key commercial terms in infrastructure-focused contracts, and optimizing the purchase of infrastructure services. Your success will be measured against business metrics like cost savings, stakeholder satisfaction, supplier management, and contract negotiation and management. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do

  • Partner with stakeholders and budget owners to support business requirements
  • Support stakeholders spend requirements and priorities by guiding procurement-led initiatives including supplier consolidation and rationalization activities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to manage cost reduction and avoidance activities for IT infrastructure services
  • Establish preferred suppliers and ensure proper policies are used
  • Proactively build and maintain knowledge of the latest industry, supplier, and technology trends, supply risk levels, and supplier capabilities to help define and improve Red Hat's supplier landscape and evaluate potential impacts on business plans
  • Select supplier sources by guiding competitive sourcing activities
  • Form contracts with selected suppliers to negotiate optimal commercial terms and conditions
  • Establish consumption-based engagement models and operationalize negotiated contracts
  • Develop a strategy and approach to optimize key supplier partnerships and simplify the buying approach with rate cards
  • Define supplier performance indicators, build and communicate related dashboards, and manage supplier performance for key suppliers via stakeholder feedback and performance-based metrics
  • Ensure that appropriate business controls are in place to reduce risk and protect Red Hat


What you will bring

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or related field; MBA degree or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) qualification are a plus
  • 3+ years of experience with procurement with 2+ years of experience negotiating IT contracts
  • Experience supporting sourcing initiatives for IT and related purchases with a solid focus and expertise in IT Infrastructure
  • Solid analytical skills in performing bid analysis, cost analysis, fair-value analysis, and scenario modeling
  • Complex problem-solving skills with development and implementation of creative solutions
  • Experience identifying areas of exposure and proactively address issues before problems occur
  • Solid experience with contract negotiations at senior levels
  • Experience building solid relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders and suppliers
  • Experience successfully inspiring a wide range of stakeholders
  • Experience leading multi-disciplined projects with minimal amount of supervision
  • Experience presenting complex ideas to management in a simplified manner
  • Customer service-oriented
  • Ability to promote teamwork and to work in a collaborative environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
