About the job
The Enterprise Applications Strategy and Transformation (EAST) team within IT is looking for a Business Architect to join us. In this role, you will join the Strategic Programs Portfolio (SPP) team, responsible for Business Architecture within and across Red Hat value streams, the highest level of capability grouping that aligns to the functional structure of a business. You will use a combination of your business architecture, analytical, and operational excellence skills to partner with business leadership across Red Hat to deliver business transformation. You and fellow Business Architects will bridge the gap between our business stakeholders, vendors, and partners to translate desired business outcomes into actionable, transparent, and highly cross-functional plans. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do

  • Be responsible for the continuous development (CD) and education and co-creation of the SPP business architecture framework, e.g., value streams, capabilities, and connections to business processes, to facilitate cross-functional collaboration in support of designing solutions, which align with Red Hat's strategy
  • Co-create an effective partnership and stakeholder management model with the business functions to ensure the right subject matter experts participate in SPP activities
  • Partner with business subject matter experts to understand business strategy and desired future states and develop effective cross functional solutions using the enterprise business architecture framework as a mechanism for analysis
  • Foster collaborative working relationship with IT and Enterprise Architecture teams to ensure role clarity and synergy to the benefit of the SPP and Red Hat
  • Ensure inclusive co-creation with all business associates and ensure transparency of framework, artifacts, assessment methodology, and changes to the framework
  • Provide subject-matter expertise to support the development of a persona user experience design-driven approach in service of programs and projects within SPP, ensuring experience-driven design is front and center and able to actively inspire the design of processes, technology, user experiences, and operating models
  • Co-design and implement solutions to increase Red Hat's acumen in business architecture; assist in the adoption of the business architecture framework and techniques to ensure successful operationalization of strategic objectives and initiative goals
  • During system integrator (SI) engagements, assists in the design and facilitation of business architecture activities to ensure successful completion, inclusive practices across the teams, and ultimate value delivered by the SIs
  • Ensure that process design and current state documentation is done in support of SPP scope and guiding principles
  • Work with business subject matter experts to ensure proper participation in process activities


What you will bring

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 8+ years of experience working in business architecture, process excellence, process design, or architectural principles
  • Experience managing vendors, SIs, and consultants
  • Team-oriented, motivated, and enthusiastic with the willingness to be proactive and maintain a positive attitude
  • Comfortable challenging the status quo to promote future thinking and working with a variety of partners to operationalize strategy
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels throughout organizations, including business leaders and administration associates
  • Ability to work with a virtual team
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Solid understanding of enterprise operational processes, planning, and operations
  • Proven ability to plan and deliver business solutions, frameworks, and process implementations
