General Summary:

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Works with Qualcomm Silicon design teams and OneIT peers to design, develop and implement a global engineering design environment with focus on HPC for EDA workloads• Strategize EDA HPC roadmap that consists of high-performing, innovative solutions in a Hybrid Cloud model • Develops HW and SW solutions and methodologies, facilitate buy-in of proposed solutions from top management levels• Leads a team of architects, engineers, and dev/ops specialists, you and your team will be responsible for broad aspects of implementation and management of strategy through global matrixed organization• Provides key leadership and establish tight relationships across the engineering segments as well as other services teams across OneIT• Manage global operations including deployment, automation (IaC), upgrades, administration, security, monitoring, config/change management, incident and problem management • Identifies and promotes a unifying vision throughout the team with associated day-to-day goals and creates a climate in which people want to contribute.• Manages the performance of team members and managers by meeting regularly with each member to discuss current and future state of key projects, identifies developmental opportunities, and evaluates performance based on key metrics.• Allocates workload (which includes key decisions, project management, and resource allocation) among team members and managers by taking into consideration employee availability, skill set, and current workload when making assignments.• Communicates plans, roadmaps, strategies, initiatives, and directions across IT domains, verbally and in writing.• Provides guidance and input into the management of requirements and/or solutions throughout key stages of the project or initiative.• Advises and teaches experienced members and managers of the team on how to achieve effective job performance.• Networks with colleagues within domain to gain insight, ideas, and connections.• Develops creative solutions to problems, and leverages new technology in order to more effectively meet business needs.• Supports IT teams by facilitating the implementation and maintenance of standardized tools, templates, and processes.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge and experience in running large EDA Grid environments using HPC cluster job schedulers such as SLURM, LSF.• Experience analyzing and making recommendations to tune performance for a variety of HPC workloads.• Understanding of fast, distributed storage systems and Linux file systems for HPC workloads.• Working knowledge of cluster configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet• In-depth understating of container technologies like Docker, Singularity

Pay range:

$152,000.00 - $228,000.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm.
