Department OverviewMotorola Solutions is a world leader in the field of professional mobile communications systems with an impressive heritage of technological innovations and a global base of installed systems. This Department is responsible for supporting the VESTA product line.
Job Description
Our Sr. Technical Trainer will conduct Emergency Call Handling technical training. This individual will occasionally perform and lead requirement gathering, journey mapping and feedback/resolution efforts associated with World Educations learning strategy.
Responsibilities
Training
Conducts Technical Training for Emergency Call handling products.
Courses include but are not limited to: Installation & Maintenance, Troubleshooting, Upgrade Training, Smart Hands Training.
Training occurs at MSI locations, customer locations as well as virtually
Collects and documents product defects for escalation.
External Support
Periodically provides on site technical expertise, analysis and audits of sites deemed to be critical.
Performs emergency site services.
Participates in generating and updating technical training documents.
May assist in Training Quality Audits
Assists Technical Training feasibility studies and schedule estimates on software projects and products.
Participates in escalation meetings as required.
External Qualifications
Periodically interfaces with customers and potential customers to discuss support/engineering issues.
Participates in Beta testing for new products and releases .
Additional Duties
From time to time, special projects may require a departure from or in addition to regular duties.
Travels occasionally to customer sites, industry standards panels and trade-shows.
Qualifications
BS in IT or BSCS or related or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong IP Networking skills.
Experience with CTI systems (generating specifications, market requirements documents, etc.).
Experience troubleshooting CTI products.
3+ years experience with LAN and WAN environments.
Excellent presentation skills
Project management skills; experience leading projects, establishing schedules, etc.
Proficient computer/PC skills; ability to produce MS Office as well ad Google documents and sheets.
Ability to use various applications for database management information, etc.
Very good communication skills, both verbal and written. Able to communicate effectively with technical personnel.
Very good interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a team environment (and generate teamwork) as well as independently.
Experience with customers, both internal and external and conflict resolution.
Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
Ability to train and instruct effectively.
Ability to travel; approximately 10 days per month.
Ability to work the required hours for the position.
Preferred Skills
Experience with 911 systems, networks, and peripheral equipment.
Experience in architecting systems for the network market
Basic Requirements
