Job Description & Requirements

JOB SUMMARY: Partners with the Sourcing team, Key Project Stakeholders and Suppliers to verify that orders are delivered in a timely and cost-efficient manner. The Specialist will generate reports and consistently update the key stakeholders and other key personnel on items that may change or influence critical path timelines that are associated with materials or items procured through a supplier or other parties. This role will utilize existing metrics as well as develop other data sources that may assist in determining changing market conditions for key sourced categories. This role will require high level of communication skills and ability to decipher potential impacts to forward looking trends in commodity categories. Develops and maintains necessary records and files for efficient operation.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops key relationships with suppliers, manufactures, and other internal and external personnel to assess current performance of supply chain and potential impacts to critical path scheduling. Works with sourcing category managers to identify optimal points of leverage for successful outcomes.
  • Interacts with stakeholders to build, engage, and lead vendor partnerships that maximize supplier quality, total cost effectiveness, improved service levels, risk management.
  • Identifies and prioritizes logistics needs and communicates recommendations to upper management in order to achieve efficient product distribution and risk mitigation efforts.
  • Strong technical aptitude with excellent visual and verbal communication skills with ability to influence business and technical decision makers which may include identifying potential product substitutions with key stakeholders.
  • Use data driven approach/modeling to improve supply chain planning accuracy & provide insights based on changes in market circumstances.
  • Generate key reports to track on-order inventory, trapped inventory, and schedule and cost risk.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.



EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree required.

EXPERIENCE: 3+ years procurement, demand planning, or supply chain related field. MRO experience preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Ability to read, interpret and analyze general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write; reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information in various settings; one-on-one, small groups; customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
